if it's got worse, vent the members going there, so it can become less full of Spam.
If it's always been like that, do the same thing but make it harder.

Awwww...that hurts. Not really...but close it anyways. Only reason why they won't close it is because they don't want to deal with cleaning up the political stuff spilling into other forums.

you complain about flaming in the politics forum yet you participated in a 2 page insult match not a week ago

there's going to be political topics, you cant avoid them, in some shape or form they affect us all. Should we drop all the Jack thompson threads? what about the natural disaster threads? or the enviromental threads?

Many of you may dislike the politics forum but despite it's faults the politics forum is far less a spam fest than the off-topic forum, which on any given day is full of nonsensical threads about bodily functions or random incoherent statements.

we got rid of some particularily nasty members with the warning system, it was effective and also worked as a deterrent

The politics forum is going to stay, because it keeps all the crap in one place instead of having it spreading out over the forums.
