Would our animals survive against the onslaught of tougher Xen species?
Wolves VS Houndeyes?
Antlion Guards VS Elephants
Apes VS Headcrabs?

why did you make this multi-option?

owell, i say some would survive and some wouldnt, darwinism.

The majority of all Xen creatures are extremely hostile. Not all of our animals would survive. Most Xen animals have special abilities eg. houndeyes let out that ring thing while our animals pretty much have there size and claws. In the majority of cases, Xen animals would win.

Whoever wins, we lose. :p

I think Earth's animals would do pretty well actually.
The sheer numbers of Earth's animals would be in their favour.

....garg mauled to death by 40 million mosquitoes

Those Xen creatures have energy attacks. The best earth creatures have is the bombardier beetle that shoots a caustic chemical out of its rear end.

Yeah, i frogot about the diseases earth animals would carry.

Severe malaria amongst bullsquid populations along the medeteranian!

damnit I voted for everything, wait I did it on perpose!!!

teh expoitzz!111 !omfog!!!

/me runs

... anyways I think it really depends on what creature against what.

i dont really know who would win the earth animals have there numbers but the the Xen animals have the strength thay have all these special abilites like the bullsquid can spit out acid and the eyedog can do that sonic ring thing and dont forget the big blue dudes in the first one who couldnt be hurt by any thing but rockets or bombs and those long neck things you meet in the first one as well with the sharp noses :sniper: :monkee:

really really long sentence... my eyes hurt somehow....

anyway, i think that the earth animals would outnumber the xen fauna and rip them to shereds

If the headcrabs can zombiefy other animals too, then we're doomed. I don't think they can do much against the flies, though.

Name me one earth animal that wouldnt run away from a few houndeyes, they make a lot of noise and that energy blast they have will scare the living **** out of most animals. And cool as 40 mill mosquitoes vs a garg would look, on what would would this happen? Definetly not earth... OMG Im being negative sry :D just trying to bring logic to the masses :D

IMO if they come in large enough quantities in the end earths larger animals would in the bow for the powwah of the Xen animals, wich animal would survive a blast or a few from the vorts´? ;)

an elephant, a human with body armor, and an electric eel
Actually, I think an elephant might run from a houndeye, seeing as it probably couldn't see its feet.

It really depends ... if Xen animals dont like the taste of earth animals then they might not attack at all. By the way i saw lots of birds flying around in HL2. The birds are taking the Xen invasion in a cool fashion.

Most wild animals would not run from any Xen Aliens. As soon as there offspring are threatened there sticking around untill the end.

I think most everywhere on earth would be screwed with the exception of Africa. They probably have enough tough Predators to last out.

I wonder how well Xen animals would fare being dropped into the waiting jaws of a Great White or Asian Croc.

Nothing beats godzilla!!!! ^^
Do you mean the earths animal who ever lived or the one´s that alive today?

The combine would/will kill all of earths lifeforms except those they deemed worthy of survival. They only care about what can be used effectivly then assimilate them to the combine. They more than likely killed every animal they came across, except for man. The destructive nature of man is exactly what the combine want.....a ruthless killing machine that will kill at will, including it's own species. They figure if they can harness this kind of power they're army will be greater then any other in the universe.

Human beings are the most highly adaptive and smartest beings they've come across and they assimilate us. Sure Lions and alligators are strong but they don't stand a chance against a guy with a shotgun and a few hand grenades :sniper:

 Yeah the birds are just kicking back & having a good time :E

By the way, What kind of daft question is this anyhow?

Maybe the birds survive because of the g-man's intervention? Remember when we see the g-man with a bird on his shoulder?

Remember when we saw that bird fly into a barnacle? where was G then, ey?

Sea life would be screwed over by Leeches, Ichtyosaurs and Archers.
Desert/Plains life would be screwed over by Antlions.
General ground life would be screwed by Bullsquids/Houndeyes.
Airborne life would probably be fine generally.
Tree dwelling life would also probably be fine.

So, in short, if your on the ground or in the sea, kiss your ass goodbye :).

EDIT: Someone should create an ecology simulator using HL2/HL1 wildlife, sort of like SimEarth but in the Source Engine using cool Xen/Earth wildlife :) .

I think Elephants and Rhino's would be able to pwn the Antlion guards. The Houndeyes don't stand up much of a chance with wolves unless they have a strong pack, which the wolves would as well(Remember they have to charge up their larnyx to attack, whereas a wolf would just leap and maul.)

But I'm betting everything in the sea would be screwed. Maybe sharks, electric eels, pirahnas, jellyfish and possibly dolphins may be able to fight off the vast number of leeches and icthyosaurs. But nothing is safe in the water. Which is possibly why the Combine want the Ocean drained in the first place.

Leeches are probably only near the beaches. And ithyasaurs, well, we have no idea about their commonness.

am i the only one that thinks earth would own. I mean just think of the vast diff in numbers. A few xen vs many many more earth. I put my money on earth. Go 3rd rock from the sun
