Polyphasic sleep

I beat my body into submission on a daily basis, it doesn't dare **** with me.

I was under the impression that the human body needed REM sleep, but I guess not. :|

We do need to reach REM stage is sleep. Without REM you could get brain damage and could even die from REM deprivation.

Sounds very interesting but id much rather perfect Lucid Dreaming.

You are conducting experiments on yourself? Peace be with your sanity..

Although, I will probably be doing this when studying for my A lvls.. :(

I don't want a sleep habit I have to nurture and coax into submission. Sleep is supposed to cater to me dammit!

I have work. Wouldnt really work. I could try it though, flexitime and all.

It would take too much effort, though.

Do you get a lunch break? If so how long?

Since people usually work 8 hour shifts with a 45 minute break in the middle, polyphasic shouldn't interfere as long as you're doing everyman schedule. Uberman (20 min every 4 hours) is another matter.

15 minutes lunch break. It's not a shift, it's however long I want as long as I make up the time.

My day's supposed to be about 8 and a half hours long, and we usually get an hour's lunch break. I could fit it in, but I'd have to try. And thinking about it would probably be more stressful than work.

I might try it next year.

I want to do this, but cant, school is 6 hours long, and falling asleep equals 20 dollar drug test and 2 hour saturday detention...
I usually get home at 3:30 and sleep an hour, come online for 2 hours, sleep 20 min and so on, but school is screwing me up

Well I can see the crankiness is starting to set in, so it ain't workin'.

jk jk :p

*sleep deprivation takes a hold of miccy, he snaps, grabs xombine by the hair and starts chewing out his eyeballs, screaming "YOU WILL SLEEP THREE HOURS! NO MORE! NO LESS! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!" *

Or something along those lines.

bump: how would this cope with varying schedules? like if my schedule changes a lot, with a higher number of hours for my core sleep (like 3-4 instead of 2), could it handle pretty much anything?

So how's it working out? I'm actually very curious. :)

He's a zombie, duh.

A forum browsing zombie.

3 hours allows a lot of variability. I'm switching to a 3 hour core sleep because right now I get bored alot. Computer games can only provide so much entertainment, and homework can't always fill the void.

So...success. I mean, you're easily able to go through the schedule day after day and feel fine?

Yeah. I'm tired in the mornings, but who isn't. It's kind of funny. I'm most awake between the hours of 3 PM and 3 AM. Before that I get gradually more awake.

lol well it's your body's way of responding to being up all night long.

I do not see how a person doesn't love sleep. It's such an escape from reality, I especially love dreaming.
