Pornography is worse than cocain...

That Carol Queen person they quote near the end is the only person in there who's thinking rationally, if you ask me.

A panel made up entirely of people who dislike porn find porn is bad?
Shock!
And they don't have any hard (lol pun) evidence?
Shock shock!

Apparently the only thing better than porn is forming a panel and jumping to conclusions. :p

wot a load ov b#!!@cks, porn is great. gotta admit thow tis addictive.
well put it this way, i dont do crack no more ;)

typical how they act like coke is the most addictive drug ever or something

I think that article is suggesting that cocaine leads to pedophillia.
And wtf is "misogyny" It sounds like a heavy metal band.

So...does that mean its ok for me to take crack now?

Yes, as long as you dont look at any porn while doing it.

I think it is a great organisation, I hope that they can one day find a cure for homosexuality, if it is possible. I know if I was gay I would probably kill myself.

Gay people are ok with me, someone has to make porn for the pedophiles.

Porn can, theoretically, lead to pedophilia. It's a bit like taking mild drugs, and then moving onto more powerful stuff because the mild ones no longer do anything. So you proceed from straight porn to weird stuff, and then to even more weird stuff. And so on. Only a tiny fraction of people go as far as pedophilia, I suspect. Most of them will probably stop at excrements and animals (hmm).

At any rate, too much porn isn't healthy. But that article is largely BS.

as is what you just said.

I was joking, don't worry. If I was gay I probably wouldn't mind...because then I could have sex with someone who likes games as much as I do...which sounds sick as hell right now...but if I was gay it wouldn't.

Spartan said:
How, precisely?
Pretty much all 'mild' drugs do not produce tolerance. Most people do not look at excrements/animal or other ****ed up porn.

It happens anyway.

Most people do not look at excrements/animal or other ****ed up porn.

That's not the point. The point is that after watching regular porn long enough, it will get boring and you'll start looking for something else. It can eventually lead to very bizzarre stuff.

Not for that reason.

Possibly it can in a very small amount of people but i doubt thats really the reason for it. They would be turned on by that stuff no matter how much porn they had looked at before. I could watch normal porn for a million years and would still find the weird shit disgusting.

Doesn't matter.

I think it happens to almost everyone, but the amount depends on the person.

Of course it matters, the tolerance was the basis of your whole flawed point. They use the so called soft illegal drugs first, usually simply because they come across them first. They would probably have used other drugs either way. Much in the same way as people who will watch animal porn dont do it at first because they dont find it at first. But they would have done it anyway.
I think it happens to almost everyone, but the amount depends on the person.
Is that a confession?

Possibly, but I think the inclination has to be there from the start, even if it is only slight.
There was a documentary a while back on "Zoophiles" - ie: bestiality - and there was little mention of the internet as far as I recall. Just weirdos with animals who got increasingly curious.

As for paedophilia, I think you have to be wired that way toi start with. I very much doubt that the internet creates paedophioles.

Porn. Not internet. And I only said that if it occurs, it only occurs in a tiny fraction of people.

Come on Spartan, you know that's exactly what I meant; after all, this is essentially about internet pornography. And you can't exactly go down the shops and buy paedophilia magazines.
My point was that of course it only occurs in a tiny fraction of people because only a tiny fraction of people are that way inclined. It may push someone over the edge, but mostly I think it just gives them more access to what they're after.

Wtf are you talking about? You said "It's a bit like taking mild drugs, and then moving onto more powerful stuff because the mild ones no longer do anything.".
Is that projection? Are you trying to shift guilt?
No. Why wont you answer the question and also why do you think its normal to start looking at that stuff? I can tell you it certainly is not.

Well, it doesn't matter how or why it happens. To my knowledge, many people progressively move on to harder and harder substances. Hence the idea that the same can be applied to porn.

No. Why wont you answer the question

Why won't you answer mine? Hiding something? Hmm?

and also why do you think its normal to start looking at that stuff? I can tell you it certainly is not.

I never said its normal.

It's certainly true that people are far more likely to start smoking cannabis than taking heroin etc. but that doesn't mean the same can instantly be applied to pornography. If you wanted to go down that road then you could try and make a case for video games being the same (and there is a case there).
Why won't you answer mine? Hiding something? Hmm?
Would you two please grow up - that part of your argument proves nothing.

Even if that connection (or similiarity) doesn't exist between drugs and porn, I still say that the theory works for porn. It has for me, to a small extent.

It does matter otherwise there wasnt really any point at all in you making that particular comparison. It could be applied to lots of other things.
Why won't you answer mine? Hiding something? Hmm?
I did answer yours, i said no. I have done nothing that suggests im hiding anything, quite the opposite in fact. Im not the one saying that it is normal to look at that stuff, and thinking it is normal when it so obviously isnt suggests, to me anyway, that you must do it yourself. Refusing more than once to deny this and also trying to say that im projecting guilt doesnt do you any favours either.
I never said its normal.
You said it happens to almost everyone. If something happens to a significant percentage of people, let alone all of them, it is normal.

Reaktor4 said:

Neither am I.

, and thinking it is normal when it so obviously isnt suggests, to me anyway, that you must do it yourself. Refusing more than once to deny this and also trying to say that im projecting guilt doesnt do you any favours either.

(bla bla bla)... which seems to suggest that you like to watch kiddie porn! Isn't that right? You can tell us.

You said it happens to almost everyone. If something happens to a significant percentage of people, let alone all of them, it is normal.

Correction: I said that it probably happens to everyone, but the amount depends on the person.

Squirm splutter choke cough.. Stop digging.
Correction: I said that it probably happens to everyone
And is therefore normal.
but the amount depends on the person.
Obviously. Unless you count 0 as an amount, it doesnt happen to everyone.

Ok this is going a bit too far for such a petty argument. Im not accusing you of anything, just saying it sounded like that (why didnt you just deny it?). Please dont accuse me of watching kiddie porn. Im out.
