port scans!!

guys my firewall keeps detecting 'port scans'. I just got about 20 in 2 minutes. Any ideas what this means?

Its a scan that scans for open ports on your computer (21,80 etc) most times its just some script kiddie scanning a ip range.

If these scan detections only occur at times when you connect to IRC servers, then it is because most IRC servers do a client port scan looking for dodgy trojans etc running on client machines... if the scans occur at random times then its probably just scriptkids looking for places to bounce their animal porn and slipknot albums to.

As long as your firewall detects it and blocks it I wouldnt worry about it.

Yeah, there nothing to worry about, unless you have the ports open lol
