possibilities for CS and TF2 maps

I was thinking, since the size of the maps on source are a LOT bigger now, (look at a dev. screenshot) We could create a huge map with many different buildings, a sven-co-op mod could fight many striders, combine, etc. Finally, there could be a decent war of the worlds mod... anyone care to add to this is welcome to do so.
 
Yeah.. I really like that idea!!
Using entire city map for the combat :bounce: with all the combines and striders, etc


I sincerely hope that will be the HL2 multiplayer :cheers:

Well the problem with big maps is that they are only fun to play in publics with lots of people on one server. They arent really suitable for clan play.

Cause it either gets very boring when you have to look for mins to find your enemy on the big map. Or you have to have 20 vs 20 matches. Which means you have to make a huge clan, which is hard to lead, and its also bloody hard to get 20 people online at the same time, and also getting good teamplay is hard with so many people.

And clans are important cause they keep the community alive.
 
I think the next counterstrike, should involve detailed maps, rather than series of slopes walkways and alleys, and a few crates.

They should build similiar maps to that of call of duty, places on the map where u have to hold/storm, rather than camping at the bomb site behind crates.
 
i was thinking for something like tf2 u would have huge maps squads taking different objectives working within their 8-12(classes within squads) man team. and having npc's do the jobs that a player wouldnt want to(artillary for example) and have most if not all npc rely on player for protection and assualt. it would take a commander to coordinate the squads in order to not leave holes or cover possible flanks. i have high hopes for tf2 and map size plays a role. i want atleast a 48-64 player server for that game which seems realistic.
