The North American version of the BF2 cover has been released and the release date of the game has moved a bit.

Battlefield 2 cover
EA has released a picture of the Battlefield 2 cover for the North American market. One would presume that we would see something similar for the European market. When looking at this cover we can also make the conclusion that the final title of the game will be "Battlefield 2". Personally it won't be this kind of cover that lures me into spending my hard earned money on Battlefield 2, but instead all the cool screenshots, interviews, trailers, teasers, previews etc. that have made me drool more than your average bulldog for several months now.

In connection with their co-operation with EA about hosting a lan in Denmark before the release, BFGeeks.dk for about a month ago announced a release date on Battlefield 2 called 8 February 2005. Meanwhile DICE has moved the release about a month or so and therefore Battlefield 2 is now scheduled for release 24 March 2005. As always you need to take these release dates with precautions as it is only DICE & EA who can decide on whenever they feel the time is right to make the eager Battlefield gamers' biggest Christmas wish come true.

We can only hope that Santa won't be further delayed and that he may find a little BF2 demo to lay under the tree at Christmas eve, which hopefully would be able to somewhat satisfy us until the big day arrives.

can't find this anywhere on official ea website though.

I dont think thats gonna happen :( The demo for BF:V came out about a month AFTER the game was released :(

Please santa

*simmo gets down on knees

Please give us the BF2 demo on chrimbo eve ;(

It's prolly bogus but it would be a very good Christmas present.

Dear santa,

give me the BF2 demo, or i'll send my headcrab on you.

Yours sincearly,
Maxi

Dear Santa,

You like that big red suit? Yeah? Well if you want it back, then give us the BF2 demo. For Christmas. Yeah.

Sincerely,
Audio

For BF:V the demo came out after, but for BF42 it came out almost two months before. So we've got precedent both ways.

Wait, theres a BF:V demo?

dear santa , give me a bf2 demo and i will behave :D
i don't think it will come , maybe new year :D

OK, apparently there hasn't actually been a Vietnam demo yet. Hows that for bad info?
I assume the people they left working on it have been busy enough trying to fix stuff.

Isn't this game due in late 2005/early 2006?

Seems a little premature for a demo.

errr, no. Official date now is the 26th of march 2005.

they did a good job getting the BF1942 demo out early, we can only hope they follow that example and not the one they set with BF:V

A BF2 demo, so early?
Highly doubtful.
The recent videos show that it's still in a very alpha / unpolished stage.

I fell in love with Battlefield 1942 when I first got that demo... Huge maps... Lots of players.. And vehicles... Just like real life.. Kinda..

I just love the concept.

I don't know much about BF2, but I am really psyched for it. A demo on Xmas eve sounds great!

I don't see how. perhaps you can point out some problems. other than players flying way high in the air when they get shot from a bullet, i dont see any glaring problems that would prevent it from being "demo'd"

Well, I see bad clipping issues...
I'm sure the balance is horrible.
We haven't even seen that much from these videos.
I just don't think it'd be ready for a demo at this moment.
