Nuclear arms reportedly found in Iraq

BAGHDAD, July 21 (UPI) -- Iraqi security reportedly discovered three missiles carrying nuclear heads concealed in a concrete trench northwest of Baghdad, official sources said Wednesday.

The official daily al-Sabah quoted the sources as saying the missiles were discovered in trenches near the city of Tikrit, the hometown of ousted Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.

"The three missiles were discovered by chance when the Iraqi security forces captured former Baath party official Khoder al-Douri who revealed during interrogation the location of the missiles saying they carried nuclear heads," the sources said.

They pointed out that the missiles were actually discovered in the trenches lying under six meters of concrete and designed in a way to unable sophisticated sensors from discovering nuclear radiation.

If this pans out to be true it would be very disturbing.

Interesting, but I wouldn't believe anything unless it's posted on major news sites.

Yeah, because news sites like FOX, ABC & CNN always tell the truth dont they  personally, I dont believe anything till reuters confirms it.

This isn't great english, either this is a translated page or a crappy journalist, either way it would seem unlikely to be true, i'd wait for some confirmation from another source

Did I mention any specific news sites? No. Believe who you want to believe. I'm only saying that until it's reported by multiple news sources I wouldn't believe anything about it.

I wont believe it till I see it on foxnews :rolling:

Untill many diffrent news sites confirm this I to won't believe it.

Interesting. You can post a thread called "Bush us an idiot! There are no WMD's!" and get 100 posts within an hour. But a post that bush might actually be right and 6 posts...

real right-wing forums we got here. [/sarcasm]

They more than likely won't and will stick with the current charges.

The whole WMD thing is silly anyway, Iraq is largely a big desert and they could hace been burried anywhere, not only that but they could have beeen destroyed and even shipped out of the country to somewhere saddam had made a deal with.

I wouldn't be too surprised if this is or isn't true, it doesn't seem to unreasonable that they could have been found now.

Just under the wild chance that it is true I will just pre-empt an argument that I know will come up.

Argument: "They are actually American warheads that the US planted there to make it seem like they found WMD's."

Fact is that if the US did want to do that then they would have done it long ago, now is not a very good time to be doing it. Just before the election campaign starts or just after the invasion was over would have been the times that US officials would have done it had they any plans.

well there you go, thanks for posting that darkstar, and i quote "its stupid".... It is getting closer to election time though, suprised we haven't just "found" some anyway.

WMD? Right, and Britney's a virgin, move on.

And why the heck did the writer say that it was found in a trench three times!! Despite them finding "missles", it could be conventional, over 15 years old, or so broken down as to make it a museum artifact than a weapon.

I won't believe anything unless I see this on YLE as Arvi Lind telling it to me right to my face. Hiihii :)
