How do you get PC games in those neat DVD-style boxes?
 
shuzer you have the same speaker set as me, but unfortunately my dad has the only digi cam and my parents are divorced =/

here's my desk, took this picture a week ago. i've had to blur out the number plate on the car for obvious reasons.

No they dont .. they come in shltty jewel cases :( At least the ones I bought

that's very strange, because they've been coming out in dvd boxes in the UK for years now. the only game i've bought direct from the US is DX:IW and that just came in a little cd sleeve type thing with the manual, so i dunno about the US.

Weird, DX:IW is the first PC game I've ever bought that came in a DVD case (in the states), and you import it from the states and it doesn't come in a DVD case? odd.

Either way, it's as Lone says, they all come in jewel cases here.. I wish they came in DVD cases
 
WTF thats just plain wierd, the only game that I have baught not in a DVD case in the last two years is NWN and thats because the instruction manual is too big.

The real answer is they're too cheap here in the states.. can't spend the extra 2¢ or whatever it costs to make a DVD case over a jewel case :(
 
Yeah.. Every single game I've bought has come in jewel cases.. :dork: Did I do something to not get one?

When games came in jewl cases here we got gigantic cardboard boxes with them that were supposedly more expensive than the DVD cases, infact we were even told that DVD cases were going to make prices go down. Fat load of shit that was.

yeah it might've just been the site i bought it from. all i got were the installation stuff, the manual and a few leaflets, all wrapped in a plastic sheet.
 
Here's mine... and my Deus Ex: Invisible War came in a spiffy DVD case, which you can even see off to the right in the picture...

Thats the most realistic looking one yet... All these other desk's look too.. Organized. :)

yep, we used to get gigantic cardboard boxes in the states, but then Wal-Mart made a general plea to the distributors to make them in smaller boxes so they could fit more stock/save on shipping costs. I really do wonder why we end up with small cardboard boxes and jewel cases/paper sleeves as opposed to nice, space saving DVD cases =(

lol thanks :) when (if) I move in 2 months or so I'm going to get one of those corner "L" desks so I don't need the stools for speakers.. plus I'm gonna get a 17" LCD (already went window shopping online for the one I want)

lol, I used to keep my desk a mess, but once I switched computer desks to this smaller one, I didn't have room for clutter, so I've kept it clean :)
 
Here is my DESK, where I should do my homework... **** homework, screw that desk.
 
Here are some boxes, all other game boxes I trashed long time ago. They take way too much space.
 
o_O;;; neat desks compared to mine *stares forlornly at 3 foot stack of crap*

in the states most games come with jewel cases and the ones that don't are in paper sleeves... no DVD for us.
 
And now a rare look under my desk. A place NO MAN should venture to ever again ....

(most of the wires are going to a subwoofer, BTW)

lol, messy wires! most of mine are neat (they're all behind my desk), and they all flow out behind my case pretty nicely

comp1 is the wires behind mine, comp2 is a closeup of my case for no real reason :p lol

There actually appears to be an ancient, mysterious power strip connected to the first one and powering unknown PC components! Now that's fire safety for you :)
 
I would post my desktop but I have terrible lighting here 700 meters under the surface of the earth.
 
I think they are starting to form their own civilization down there ...
 
I agree.. a public library, a grocery store -- they got everything down there..
 
I don't have a digital camera for a pic... but my desktop is nothing exciting. The coolest looking thing is my mouse :( I suppose I could spend the money for a cool case... but that would involve work....so no..

I wouldn't mind having a second monitor...it'd be pretty cool being able to multitask easier.
