Yeah, I thought that the game was praised for its graphics?

I think it looks acceptable considering you have a huge island with no loading whatsoever.

And I'm playing on high, anti aliasing and HDR turned off though.

More like 1, PC version of TDU came out in March 2007.

XB360 version of TDU came out in September 2006(So it still wouldn't be 3 years older)

Whatever, the company obviously wasn't striving for PC melting system requirements(like GTA4) so they made it look as good as possible while still catering to people with low-end hardware.
 
The environment might not look "next gen", but the cars themselves are wonderfully done. Even the interior of the car. However the looks don't matter since the game is a lot of fun in my opinion.

Take GTA Vice City for example, it looks like crap, but it compensates with the fun factor.

They only chase you and put up road blocks, there are no spikes or police choppers like in NFS.

What I find stupid about the police chases is that they absolutely refuse to give up the chase if you hide in the woods. They don't go in there after you, but as soon as you go back on the road they continue the pursuit... You have to make them give up the chase on the road...
 
Aw... that was the only reason I was going to consider getting it. :(
 
When you get to the higher end of TDU it takes a big nosedive in fail. Spent most of my time doing the same race over and over just so I could buy a specific car for a manufacturer challenge, either that or the pointless clothing coupon things you get for driving people around.
