Just think of kansas and everything will be fine...if you see a yellow brick road, walk the other way. If however, you are compelled to sing and dance along it, avoid any and all talking, Lions, Tin Men, Scarecrows, and whole other range of other worldly entities.


Hope you are alright :D I know this probably sounds weird, but i wish that i could live through a tornado and a whole other manner of things just to know what its like. However, i dont think i could handle the loss of life that could potentially occur.

Good luck :) Hope you don't lose too much stuff and most importantly your life.
 
Dear god, crazy stuff, I remember when I was in Denver during that increadibly large storm in may of 99' and we had a tornado watch there, next day the f5, and the other tornadoes spawned in oklahoma from the same storm, unfun :(
 
Oh, well that's wierd. Do you think we need to buy TNG a new pc to play HL2 on if his other one got tornadoed?

But leats be a bit pessimistic for awhile, what if the tornade went straight over his house, causing debri to fall on the doors to his stormshelter, making him trapped down there for days? That would suck.

Yeah, but he needs a "genny" (As heard on the big screen). Since his ups diddn't keep his machine on for very long.
 
Well i made it. :)

The tornado wasnt as bad as I though. The tornado made it to a F1 class and it jumped around a bit before dieing out. It touched down and ran for about a mile and passed my pad about 1/2 mile away.

So far every thing is ok exept for the roof and severial windows that got smashed out by limbs and other crap. The wind speed at my house was 86MPH :O

The power is back on but its really spotty. My wireless is dead and im using 56k on my laptop. :(The back up hasnt had enough time to recharge and water blew through the smashed windows and splashed all over the system right now its drying out. I hope its ok.

Well this may sound funny but after the power went out last night I crancked up Dont Fear The Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult. :) and ate an MRE (Four Fingers Of Death) (Some of you guys can figure out wich one I ate) :)

My Gfs house has more damage and she's missing severial of her cats. :( So after fixing up my place and getting the insurance people out to look over the damage ill be heading out to help her look for her cats.

Luckly my lap top had a semi half way full charge. :)

Well ill awnser as many questions you guys might have. My camera and all my outside chairs are missing. I had the camera setting on a chair on my front porch and I think every thing blew away.

My car got hit by a tree limb so im going to have to use the lincoln I bought off my uncle for $600. :farmer:
I dont think it messed up any other peoples places any worse than mine, A few people where hurt but i dont think it was the tornado.

So anyother members get bad weather last night? Because I sure had some. :rolling:

When you get another camera take a few pics of your storm shelter. I love all these disaster shelter thingies, they are cool, imo.

Seriously though, its nice to knwo you are ok. Shame about your girlfriend's cats...at least shes not missing anything of, for example, her body.

I just had a picture flash accross my mind of my two cats being hurled arround in a tornado! :O :rolling:

Yeah Im happy she made it and that I made it. The cats that are missing have been with her for over 12 years.

As far as I can tell my system is ok but Im still drying it out. most of the water was on the video card and cpu. :(

anyways I cant find the porch chairs so the camera is more than likily smashed to bits too. :(

I about to check out the basement hopefully it didnt flood it. The water pump hasnt kicked on so thats a good sign. :)

It want to bad around town. Severial power lines where taken out and trees pushed over. As far as house damage it was about the same as my place. Tree limbs smashing out windows and roofs getting messed up. Cats playing super man :)

Thanks anyway guys. My bacement is ok no water leekage. Im putting but plastic over the windows and im cleaning but the glass and tree limbs that are in my pad.

Phraxtion memphis is about 45 minuts away from my place.
 
Well ive got most of the crap cleaned up. Im about to head over to the GF and help her out. :)

Anyways I will borrow her camera and post pics later today. Anyways thanks again.

Well two cats that decided to hang glide in a killer storm have been found in pieces. Not a very pretty site.
Still trying to comfort my gf. And not doing a very good job. Any advice on that part is welcome.

The insurance people said that in the next few days i will be getting a check for the house and car damage.
And my computer is dead and not covered under house insurace. :( Anyone want an BFG Nvidia Geforce Fx5900 Ultra? Amd Xp 3200, Chaintek 7NJL1 Mother Board? All dead of course. The ram,Power supply, Hard drives and DVD Burner are all fine.

So I get forced to upgrade. :)

Nvidia Geforce 6800 ultra can be gotten for $850 but ill make do with a geforce fx 5200 ultra for now, when the 6800 get more main stream ill get one.

Not to bad but its gonna take a fortune.
 
Very, very sorry to hear about the cats. The material goods can be replaced, but to lose a pet is hard.

My sympathies are with both you and your gf. As for comforting her, I'd suggest leaving for a while, even if only out to dinner or something. Just to get away from it all for a bit.

We had the worst line of storms here in Kentucky that I could remember on that same day. EVERY county along that line of storms had either a Severe Thunderstorm or Tornado warning, and it streched from northern indiana to tennessee. We had a thunderstorm warning here, but we were surrounded by tornado warnings. One town in Indiana was completely leveled, and one even struck the city of Louisville, causing a bunch of damage. We just had a little wind and a lot of rain. For all you alcoholics out there, I live a couple miles from Makers Mark, and they got hit pretty hard. A lot of their old trees were torn down, and a roof of a warehouse was blown off. No whiskey was harmed, luckily. :naughty: The owner said he swears it was a tornado, he saw a large oak get ripped out of the ground and twirl around in the air before getting ripped to shreads. Crazy stuff...

Tornado magnitudes are measured on a linear scale, the Fujita scale, ranging from F0 to F5. F0 = about 80 MPH tornado winds, F5 = over around 250 MPH I think.

Can't help but laugh when I think about the cats being sucked up by a tornado.
