Potential Fun with Halflife

I'm one of those gamers that loves to laugh at games.
I spent a good hour one day, playing Halo, flingling myself off a cliff. Each time I did it, it was hilarious. Then when I got bored with that, I found creative ways to do it.

How much crazy fun will we be able to have with Halflife 2?
I had a dream I was playing HL2, fighting alongside barney, and some alien chopped off his arm. While he was screaming in pain I took the pickup gun thing, picked up his amputated arm off the floor, and smacked him in the face a few times with it. He screamed at me before he fell unconscious. It was so hilarious.

Lets take the video tunnels. Theres a lot of description about the scripted sequence with the hydra in another thread...here are some possibilities:

While Alyx is talking, I would leap off the cliff. You think maybe she'd keep on talking, or will she gasp and say "wtf are you doing, gordon? NOOOOO!"

What if I were to shoot Alyx in the foot while she was talking?

What if after the hydra impales the guard, I stand in one place, jumping up and down for 5 minutes? Will Alyx spazz on me or will she just sit and stare?

What if I were to take those bug bait things peg them at Alyx? There would be no aliens around to eat her, but would she get pissed at me for throwing stuff at her?

....

I can't tell you how many different ways I killed the scientists in Halflife 1. I hope they die just as fun in this new installment.

Think of some new, exciting, funny situations!
 
LOL, now this guy really deserves HL2, yer like me, i spend hours doing everything possible, and it all turns to hell when u give me a map editor with a game. It makes me giddy to think of all the things ill be able to do!
 
Its kinda strange, I mean, I dont think they will do anything too "human", but, I hope they will tell you to get down if you are standing on a table or something, but how would they know?
 
Man, now im thinking, they need to make a gun that flings a whole bunch of watermelons, Mmmmm, man i wonder if u can kill a man with one of those? well not 1, more like 50.
 
ya thats always fun to do. so many diffrent ways to kill so few things.....

You know, some duds asked Gabe about if Gordon shot Alex or any other Friendly Allies, He repleid, WE ARE Prepared for it something that has not been done in any game.
Well this is good. Imagine you shot Alex and she defend herself or talk to you in very smart dam way, or in the hydra case you leave her and start attacking the hydra thing but she respond with something you never seen it possible for an AI to do. WOW man.

I would die to see that happen. :cheers: :thumbs:

Why? Are you particularly adverse to real light?

Oh, and as for fun? It's aaaaallll about the Manipulator. Oh baby.
 
I understand that typing in a dark room can be somewhat difficult unless you know where the keys are... but you do understand that you can go back and change letters after you type them in, right?
It's not like you are writing in pen...

Does typing in a dark room also make you sound retarded or does that come naturally?

I really like all these randomly hilarious kills that you sometimes achieve when playing FPS-games. Kills that you didn't really plan to laugh about but turned out to be really funny.

One time though, a friend of mine and I were playing DM with a couple of other guys on Stalkyard. Do you guys remember how that warehouse looked like? Anyways, there was this big hollow crate with a "door" if you will, that you could open. Inside you could get some satchel charges. Quite frequently people were running in there to get some satchels.
So anyways, I picked up all of them in there and just dropped them at the same place inside this crate, went out and closed the door and crossed the room. I climbed som other crates and sat down to watch as one player went in there to pick them up. Then *Boooom!!!* Haha, the most hilarious frag in Half-Life I've ever made.
He was so pissed off after that ;)

Anyways, ive said it before, Gorgon is a troll. hes gotten like a hundred posts in like 3 days, i think that dark room is getting a little too comfortable.
 
My favorite halflife related kills were in TFC as an engineer. My favorite maps were shortbus a and shortbus b. The 2 bases had this school bus train traveling around on a track that connected both bases.

Anyway my favorite thing to do was my patented kamikazi engi bomb attack. I would stock up on ammo jump onto the hood of the enemy controlled bus and watch as the enemy looks on in confusion as i sit on the hood waiting for my primed emp grenade to explode. Ironically i'm usually the one that survives despite the explosion being centered on me.

Ok,

When I get HL2 and the SDK Im gonna put a dune buggy and a line of doctor kleiners in one room with a pool of water at the end, ownage.
 
dude :eek: I make games fun all the time once I on wolfenstein for xbox live I would get my entire team of about 15 dudes to come whatch my "1337 hax" and then just panzer the floor right underneath me and have them shower in my gibs and I burst a lung laughing ;( so halarious I cried

I always play quake3 online and with lights in my room you cannot see the other players.:eek:

what happens if you use the manipulator on alyx and throw her into the water? :p

man, I've had alot of fun with headcrabs... get alot to follow you and lead them to a scientist or something. :)
 
na u wont be able to pick up her but dude i have a better idea ok u know that little hallway where the manhacks all come at u at once and whoever is playing shuts the door? Dude u could just kill the man hacks then run in there grab one of the bodies thats laing on the floor then go to her and just start beating the shit out of her with a dead body! MUAHAHAHA

remember in HL1. where if u turn the lights off, the scientist will go up to it and turn it bk on.

also remember when u shoot a friendly, they will shoot bk and the ppl who see will also shoot u bk.

So if this happened in hl1, JUS THINK ABOUT IT. HL2 is goin to be like SO MUCH MORE REALISTIC.

what do u think will happen if u KILL Alyx? story must change in a lil way.

also on the first one, if u keep clicking on the allies, they will keep saying something. jus amagine what they will say bk on hl2?

gonna be so sweet. i have got SO many levels that i know will be poss in this game :)

forget about delays ppl i know it will be fake, and leaks? well i wish, but i really dout that is true.

jus gonna have to wait.

I THINK VALVE RULE, cause they r giving us movies every other day jus to hold up for the release.

if they was to send a movie out everyweek it would make us look foward to the week ahead, but now they r giving it to us every day/other day. Wat more can we ask.

Also i read somewhere that they would release the SDK before the game itself? would be cool, but would we be able to test the levels we make? NO? cause the game wouldn't be out.

Halflife2 will just give the player EVERYTHING he ever wanted.
