For those who aren't familiar with PowerStrip it is a program that lets bypass the gamma and brightness lock in games. For example I have a Gateway monitor (EV700), where its default gamma settings is low and if you want to play Steam games, its too dark to see in some areas.

If you change the gamma in ati drivers, and play a game, it resets the gamma to default. For the past year I have been dependent on the software to solve my problems. But, the 365 day trial has ran out and you have to register, which costs $30.

All I want to know is there a program that is virtually the same thing, but for free? I can't play any games until this is solved. Or I can buy a new monitor, which I currently don't have that much amount of money at the moment.

Any help will be appreciated.

Try uninstalling it and reinstalling it.
You might have to dig through the regristry to remove all traces and make sure that the program doesn't see any traces.

If you like the program so much, you should buy it. After all, it is only 30 dollars.

try RivaTuner, it's probably better than powerstrip, and free.

Do you have to download their driver instead of using the nVidia one?

Never mind, I tried it but I wasn't too impressed.

For nVidia try something called GeForce Tweak.

Any chance I could overclock my card (see sig) for a little more performance, or will it not be able to oc too far.
