Power Supply Question

Hey everyone

Essentially, I currently have a 3Ghz P4, 1 gig of DDR400 Ram, ATI 9800 Pro 124mb.

My current 300W power supply gets very warm after I start playing games.

My current plan to combat this is to be a 420W power supply. Is this the right idea? Should I opt for a 480W power supply?

Any help here would be great.

Do you get any games randomly crashing? Does your system reboot randomly without warning? If so then you might need a new PSU. Otherwise there is no reason to switch PSU unless you're going to be adding more hardware to your machine. PSU's to tend to get hot from time to time.

No crashing........it just worries me to have the power supply produce that much heat.

I have a 450W PSU and it gets pretty hot from time to time. As long as the PSU provides enough juice for your rig you don't need to get a new one.
