D: $300, screw that shit,Im buying a new HD first.

Thats what the price has always been..Im going to wait and see if a better version comes out, besides nothing to play now anyway. Besides Cellfactor but thats only lan..if it was online id surly pick this up right now.

yea I saw that GRAW uses PhysX cards. Now... What exactly does this do? Is this a card just for physics!?

:O That game looks AMAZINGLY FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! haahah that looks awesome.

gonna wait awhile to see what more people think of it. not to mention till more games use it.

Been out for about a month here... Way to expensive to consider buying right now. I'll wait for a better version to be released and more games to support it before i get one.

My only gripe is, I don't understand how anyone can really benchmark with this ppu card... I mean the only games that use it, HAVE to have it to get the effects, otherwise they won't work all together, and I think cell factor requires the card just to play, no? So how can we really tell if its a worthy upgrade or not? Anyone know if ut07 is going to require the physX card?

UT07 will not require a PPU. And because no game this year or even next year will, it won't be a part of my 2007 computer for anything over $149.

A PPU? This is some bull**** more expensive hardware I have to buy to play the latest games. Damn it man $300 they can kiss my ass

Nope, you don't HAVE to buy it. You'll still be able to play UT07 w/o it, but it won't look nearly as nice.

HATE HATE HATE

Ill wait for more games to support it and the Asus version, will VALVe support it ?

Yeah, and since my psu is already being overworked with the graphics card and extra HD...I'll hopefully have a more capable system by then.

P.S. shouldnt this thread be under hardware?

gah....this is such a worthless piece of shit. At least right now....your FPS goes down when you uses a phsyx card with graw...

As people arn't going to buy these things developers won't think of using them. Look at how long it took 3d accelerated graphics cards to take off.

That would be because the engine is terrible.

At least it's planned to go down to $100 by December :E

Source?

The PPU is generally a nice idea (cloth, hair, liquid physics is all good in my book!)

Let's hope we get more people starting to support this... Then devs can really start to utilize it once it's mainstream!

I think everyones forgetting we don't even have multi core aware games yet. The reason we have dual core and quad core processors is to handle this sort of thing. Physics, AI, etc should be handled by another core or another physical processor with it's own 2/4/8 even cores.

don't buy ppu now, wait and see how it performes in UT2007.....

Honestly, I doubt it.... VALVe used the Havok physics engine and the PPU requires that you use their PhysX... So unless VALVe switchs physics engines (unlikely considering how much time they spent on Havok) or the PPU supports other third-party physics middlewares (again, I think this is unlikely because they want to make their PhysX API the dominant physics middleware)

I would buy one if I started to shit money. Last I checked, not yet.

*Fingers crossed, I'm going to the toilet*
