Pre-Load on the 5th.. ha.. don't make me laugh.

Any chance on God's green Earth that CSS will see a preload on the 5th IYO?

If CS:S preloads on the 6th people will complain and call them liars.

If the game itself is released one day over "summer" people will complain and call them liars.

Valve should just release things when they are done and say nothing until then...oh wait...I forgot about the people who complain about them them not giving dates. hmmm They can't win no matter what they do. ;)

As for it pre-loading on the 5th. Since Steam was recently updated (with the new icons) ...I think it will pre-load on time, or perhaps a day or two after the 5th. Some time soon in any event.

But if not, that's fine, I can wait :)
 
I read some where that valve wants to give cyber cafe's 3 or 4 days before the confirmed cyber cafe release date so that they can play CS:S parties and such. and so that the cafe's will have atleast one weekend of exclusive play (before cz'ers get the beta)
 
i dont know if you all updated your steam yet but its been updated so you can add your ati cdkey to your account. looks like cs:s beta is on schedule.

Seriously, though. this sucks! I'm so desperate to play a good game it's untrue! and Valve IMO are the best game-maker out there.

^ Well put. I'm getting impatient as well. Not to mention, there's nothing worth playing right now except for D3, but I'm looking along the lines of a MP game. I had even contemplated buying a CZ cdkey tonight so I could play the beta when it was supposed to be released in the next days. Oh well, guess I'll keep my money.
 
goddamn, why didnt they just say 20th or summat?! then if they released the beta on 15th or something (early) we would all be congratulating them and praising them, instead of everyone being sorely pissed off (me included).
 
Well don't mean to say I told you so......but yeah well I do. Delayed- well valve ain't nothin' if not predictable. HL2 for December WOOT :x

EDIT) It's not that I care when it happens, I'm still over the moon about getting the BETA, but all these missed dates are really getting on my tits.

I've got an idea why don't they just say pre-load after or around the 5th- not on the 5th- that way we don't have our hopes continually blown out of the water...
 
So, for every Valve release date, multiply the time from when announce to the release date by two, and add 3 weeks for shipping.

Counter-Srike: Source will not start pre-loading on the 5th. We are working extremely hard to get it out and will have more information on this soon.

The CS: Source BETA was scheduled to be made available for play on the 10th. It's unknown, but likely, if that date will be pushed back as well.

i love valves games, but i f*cking hate vavle. :flame:

at least i hate them when they delay things, ill be kissing them when they release HL2 :) (whenever that wil be.....)
 
What I get from the csnation post is that the PRELOAD date has been delayed. Now this could consiquently mean that the release date is also been delayed but it may not also.
 
I think someone should email someone from VALVe this thread.. It showed how 56% of us had faith in VALVe and they let us down ):
 
how hard is it to meet a deadline? very easy. if valve arent sure if it will be ready they shouldnt bloody say it will be, should they? i am seriously pissed off, especially if it doesnt come out on the 10th...

Oh c'mon, I want to play the beta as much as you do, but there are plenty of other things to do in the meantime there's no need to be pissed off.

Cafe's will be getting at least one week of exclusivity (possibly 2) according to Cliffe, so if we see it before the end of the month I'll be shocked tbh.

Doom 3 has taken a lot of heat off Valve (just take a look at the gaming forum with every thread being about Doom 3 to see that), but Doom doesn't really interest me, and I want my CSS update!!
