Pre-order "stuff"

Recently I've been in the habit of pre-ordering games because of all the cool stuff you seem to get when you do. I was wondering what the best pre-order gadget or trinket you guys have seen.
 
i've never preordered, so i wouldn't know. wot have u got from preorderin?
 
Getting the game I pre-ordered in the first place was the best gift I could wish to own.
 
back in the day when the originaly playstation was still the hip new toy i preorderd dinocrises and i got ALOT of free stuff with it, lets see...got dog tags, a T-shirt, a cool poster, a cd carrying case, and the game. also when i preorderd resident evil 2 i got the damn coolest T-shirt EVER. its black and just says capcom on the top left side of the shirt, but on the back its got the image thats on the front of the RE2 jewel case but slightly modified so it says resident evil below the zombies head and hand.
 
You basically get a "behind the scenes" disc or a tee-shirt or a $(insert amount of money here) voucher good for a future purchase, or whatever else the company you are pre-ordering the game from can scrape up.

I'll admit, I was a geek when Command & Conquer: Generals came out. EBgames had a pre-order special if you ordered, you would get an "officers club pack", which was a free cd, that when you played online you would get a special badge, and a unique flag for you HQ.

Of course I ordered it, and it was pretty stupid. Not to mention that I don't even play it anymore, lol!
 
When I preorderd Alien Versus Predator Gold Edition (I think, or maybe it was the sequel?) I got a big face hugger with a suction cup on the bottom. That was the sweetest thing I've gotten with a preordered game though. *shrug*

I ONCE PREORDERED A GAME AND GOT A PINK RHINOCEROUS!!! I GOT PRETTY FREAKED OUT WHEN IT STARTED TALKING THOUGH, SO I ENDED UP CANCELING THE PREORDER ;(!!!





EDIT: but hey, we all do pretty crazy things when we're drunk... right?
 
Seriously if they gave away a plush headcrab I think i'd have to order like 3 or 4 copies. Then I could begin my plan for global domination <insert dr. evil laugh here>
 
Coolest stuff I've ever gotten was the Max Payne mouse pad that came with the game, Metal Gear Solid Soundtrack and T-Shirt, Dreamcast T-Shirt, soon a FFXI mousepad, and the Zelda bonus disc.. I now wish I had pre-ordered Max Payne 2 so I could get the free t-shirt.

There's also this thing going on at ebgames.com saying if you pre-order HL2, you get a free HL2 t-shirt. I gotta look into that more. Free stuff is...cool.
 
But the real question here I suppose is..

If you got a T-shirt or ortherwise clothing item, would you actually wear it in public?

I most likely would not, maybe around the house like a lounge shirt or something.
 
a t-shirt with the combine logo would be cool. no one would have any idea what it was except other hl2 players.

same thing for the lambda logo, tho that might be a little better known.
 
I wear my Max Payne 2 T-shirt outside of the house. It's my fav.
 
I saw some guy at our school arcade wearing a penny arcade T-shirt, He was ranked number 1 on the soul caliber 2 machine :dork:

OMG! I want a plush headcrab! And it should make cool headcrabby sounds when you rub its tummy!

Oh, and also it should have those eyes that roll around when you shake it!

i wear my video game t-shirts out side of the house and in public area, so far no ones said anything about my mario cart racing, starwars pod racer, zelda, or resident evil shirts. people to day things about my mario bros the movie t-shirt though.....
 
Already got my radeon 9800 pro 128 and im very happy with it, much better than a geforce 3
 
A Radeon 9000 is good enough for me; the difference between DX8 and DX 9 is fairly negligible, unlike DX 7 to 8 :)

I work at EB Games and half the time they give away stuff with a pre-order it's usually a month or so before the release, so you might want to check back every now and then, before deciding that you aren't getting anything.

as for pre-order items, usually it's given away with a game preorder... since i work at the store, i get free dibs on all the pre-order stuff... they can be t-shirts, posters, hats, skull caps (for the game SWAT), to things as random as antenna toppers, and air fresheners. Also, demo discs are often available to those that catch them in time (socom II demo disc)

as far as what we'll see for halflife 2, I haven't seen anything in the store that even looks like it might be related to halflife 2, and i check in shipment pretty regularly.

I have already expressed my desire to have any and all standee's that come with the game, along with atleast 2-3 shirts.

but that's because im a fanboy.
