Pre-ordering for release delivery (GTA4)

So anyone have any ideas so I can play this on the Friday? Can't think of any respectable dealers except Amazon but I don't think they can guarantee delivery for the release date.

Go to your nearest dealer and buy it. That's what I'm doing. Theres like 8 retailers in Wolverhampton that are media outlets, and then loads more that do video games anyway. I had no trouble with Twilight Princess or Halo 3 so I'm hoping the same for GTA.

I preordered.. wow.. I can't even remember. I was buying Saints Row after trading in a couple games, and that was at the END of February.


Yeah. So that is what you get for waiting 2 weeks to preorder before the release of an amazing game/

eh i'm not fussed I wasn't going to have much time to play it until my exams were over anyway, I might even pick it up cheaper this way.

The thing is, is that even if all the major stores sell out over here (two Game stores, a Gamestation, a HMV and then Forbiddion Planet), I can still bet that all the little street stores will have copies, and even then, places like Woolworths, WHSmith or even Sainsbury's will have copies.

But from my past experience with big games, the two Game stores have always been well stocked. Wolverhampton seems to have very little draw for gaming.

Anyone from the US know anything about Target or Wal-Mart doing midnight releases? I bet the local 24-hr Wal-Mart would be the place to get it...I HATE to support them though given their sh1ttiness. :|

Just go to a 24hour supermarket on the night, I think tesco is the best for midnight releases, but I've never actually tried it

There won't be a stock problem in stores I think or hope anyway, I remember a few stores were only selling Halo3 to pre-orderers though AFAIR.

Youll find a copy somewhere on release date, I doubt every shop in the town you live will have it sold out. Would be bloody weird if they all did though...

Thats for the standard edition, they still have the special edition in stock though by the looks of it.

I really, really hope my EB is doing a midnight release. I asked today, and they said they didn't know. And I just paid off my limited edition pre-order yesterday ;(

If they don't do a midnight release, I'll just show up the next morning at 10am.
