Precaching Resourses

Well.....I dclick on a server and its all fine until precaching resourses comes up....it freezes and doesnt go beyond that point...i have had steam for a while but just a few hours ago had to reload windows onto my computer due to some problem....anyone got any ideas on how to fix it....It says its not responding on the taskmanager....i never had this problem before...

Most likely, since u reloaded [reformatted i'm guessing] windows, you have lost all the content you had for your steam games. the problem of it "freezing" happened to alot of us when steam first came out. Most likely steam is just re-downloading all the content for your games. open up your monitor window when you first start steam and see if it's using bandwith. Just let it sit for a while, it will let you play eventually, even if it says "Not Responding" in task manager.
