Over on the Official Predators Website they have a sneak peek of the new Predators movie with the first actual movie scenes.

The proper trailer is supposed to be up on 18 of March as well. It's looking promising from the few scenes shown.

looks cool, also Laurence Fishborne is amazing and I hope this movie is kickass

"They learn, they adapt"

Well no shit man, they're smarter than you are. We're not talking about velociraptors here.

As for the time being I remain skeptical of this movie. 5 days until trailer, we'll see then.

the predators themselves look perfect, the environment looks great, and I like most of the actors in it. Just hope it isn't some crappy semi-amateur thing.

i was thinking the same thing...they apparently got the whole "travel to another civilization" thing down, pretty sure they can handle the details.

anyway, i'm just glad it's not another AvP, the last couple were absolutely horrid.

I like some of Rodriguezs' stuff, therefore looking forward to this, looks pretty good from the teaser. Although after the atrocity of the AVP films I'm still going to reserve judgement till I see it.

It was alright when you could actually SEE what the **** was going on.
The movie was so unnecessarily dark.

edit: WHAT THE **** ROBERT RODRIGUEZ IS DOING THE NEW PREDATOR MOVIE??!?!? FIHFLDGLPGTU*(T
hype meter through the roof

You know, that's the number one complaint I hear about the movie, but I've never had a problem seeing what's going on. Are there any parts you can specifically think of that are "too dark?" I'm genuinely curious.

Every scene in the sewers, scenes in the school, the opening scene on the Predator ship, god damn just basically every scene in the movie.

I had to turn the brightness up on my TV making the genuinely bright areas look awful.

Hmm. That sucks it was too dark for you. Especially the sewer part, 'cause that part's amazing. Every time I play AvP3 and I've got the mines, I'm thinking of that scene.

Originally I had never had a problem with AvPR and it's brightness. Then I got a new HDTV and watched the film and I couldn't see shit, yet it looks fine on my standard def TV upstairs. I believe that some TV's just display it too dark (which is of course a problem with the movie and not your TV's before everyone leaps on me).

Laurence Fishburne is the only actor there worthy enough of playing a badass. The rest look like weedy skinny girls and also including the girl which just looks like a normal girl. The boys there should start there own boy band. Aside from this it looks like a good movie.

Very skeptical of this movie but will watch because I am a huge predator fan.

Also I thought that I was the only guy on earth that liked AvP2.

There are three of us! And you know what that means:

we must form a hunting party and roam the galaxy.

HEY!!! AvP 1 was ok, AvP 2 was enjoyable. So **** you!

Through translation of the pyramids hieroglyphs, the explorers learn that the Predators have been visiting Earth for thousands of years. It was they who taught early human civilizations to build pyramids and they were worshiped as gods. At regular intervals, they would visit Earth to take part in a rite of passage in which several humans would sacrifice themselves as hosts for the Aliens, creating the "ultimate prey" for the Predators to hunt. If overwhelmed, the Predators would activate their self-destruct weapons to eliminate the Aliens along with themselves. They deduce that this is why the current Predators are here, to hunt the Aliens again. The survivors further reason that the heat bloom from the pyramid was given off to attract humans for the purposes of making new aliens to hunt. The remaining humans decide the Predators must be allowed to succeed in their hunt so that the Aliens do not spread to the rest of Earth.

The plot - it burns!

In AvP 2 they at least tried to make you forget about the awful ritual sacrifice thing they had going on. Thats just one of the many reasons I disliked that movie.

The ending of AVP1 was the only good part.

With the Predator fighting the Queen.

it looks better than I thought, but will not decide yet,I just think it dont look that bad as I expected

Yay, someone else who likes AVP:R!

I hated both AvP movies. When I first heard of AvP I honestly thought it would have a story similar to the game series. Meaning, colonial marines, aliens and predators, duking it out on an alien planet. Instead I got this nonsense set on present day Earth...

word bro,imo they shoulda followed the Dark Horse Comics

This is the how i'd do it.

I'd have set it on an ice planet, a science team is sent in by weyland-yutani to some alien ruins, team is wiped out by face hungers, some ruin device is actived to bring the predators into the fold, also one of the science team sets a SOS, colonial marines come in, they are ambushed by the aliens, they try to escape, but then comes in the predators, they destory the drop ship so they cant get off the planet, lots of teason, people dying here and there, similar ending with queen fight but a Marine blazing his gun away and then the predator dies who has been face hugged somewhere down the line, predator clan brings the body back, while the marine alone walks onto the snowy darkness but there is hope as the sound of another drop ship is heard in the distance and then cut to the predator ship and they show the predator with the pred-alien larva brusts out, and then credits...

Now if only I had a time machine, Fox's approval and the money...

Hell yeah, man. Set the first AvP on Ryushi, and have the second AvP be all Machiko, all the time. And not fake, wannabe Machiko like Alexa Woods in AvP, but the real Machiko Noguchi, most badass human ally the Yautja ever had.

Am I the only one who finds the Yautja homeworld REALLY underwhelming? Maybe we will see more interesting footage.

If I knew nothing about this film, I'd think "Oh, it takes place on Earth." I don't want anything absurd like Pandora, but there is very little indication from what we have seen that the film takes place on an alien planet.

ALSO, WHY CAN EVERYONE'S BREATH BE SEEN, I THOUGHT THE PREDATORS LIVED ON A HOT HUMID PLANET AND THAT IS WHY THEY LIKE TO HUNT ON PLANETS WHEN IT'S ALL HOT AND SWEATY??

ALSO HOW ARE THE HUMAN'S BREATHING GREAT I THOUGHT THAT PRED'S HAVE A DIFFERENT ATMOSPHERE WHICH IS PART OF THE REASON THEY DON'T TAKE OFF THEIR MASKS A LOT?

I don't actually think it's their homeworld, just a planet they use for hunts. I could be wrong though.

The early script said it was in their homeworld, I don't think its the case, anyway, didn't we not see a glimpse of the homeworld in AVPR?

The teaser did call the place they were in a "game preserve." Might not be the predator world anymore.

Also, the new Dark Horse Three World War comics seem to borrow some plot points from this movie: the antagonists are black-armored predators who use modified xenomorphs as hunting dogs, versus traditional predators and colonial marines.

Been reading that, they say the 2009 predator & alien comic tie into it, plus it has the return of the Machiko too.

NO YOU'RE LAME

Machiko can never be lame. She is the best predator.

Hotnumbers, have you read issue 2 yet?

Where she's like, "We can't talk to the predators yet." Then she kills the biggest one, and she's like, "Ok, now we can talk to them."

Yep, it seems its building up, the killers are interesting too.

I was thinking of getting the omnibus to the aliens, predator & AVP stuff.

I'm not sure about this. I still can't take any Predator (or AvP) movie seriously (even though I like predators) but Rodriguez can make quite entertaining action movies and Adrien Brody is pretty cool.

not gonna lie, i was skeptical when i heard there was ANOTHER predator movie coming, but after seeing the cast, that rodriguez was directing, and this sneak peek, it's looking pretty good.
