I believe one of the following will be in the next Valve press release, and until one of these three things happen we will not hear a word from them.

1)We are continuing to work on HL2 diligently to bring it to you as soon as possible i.e. were still working on it.

2)We/law enforcment have caught the bastard that hacked us. (doubtful)

3)HL2 is going gold on (date a week from the announcment)

note option 3 can happen now next week next month next year etc.

Finally a cool topic.
I assume it has been delayed to somewhere in 2004, so my prediction is that it will be 'We're still working on it.'

Nah, it'll be on the Lines of:
Valve Announce New Engine Called Source Alpha Beta Zero, an upgrade on the Stolen Source Engine.
New Features include IP forwarding so if any of you bastards try to nick it again we'll catch yer.
Support for SpitCodFry vengance missions.
You can now play multiplayer(we forgot to actually put that in the original release dont ya know).

#3 made me laugh

Stryyder should be the new Charles Criswell King! He used to predict things on TV back in the 50's, like people would be living on Mars by 1978 or something (I can't exactly remember the year)

you know i just had a thought. valve should make sure they thoroughly read Murphy's Law. it could help them a little.

and i voted for #2 (caught the filthy thieving little pig felching sheep shagging little bastards)

Official statement by Gabe Newell;
"We decided to abandon Half-Life 2, and start working on Half-Life 3, we are sorry for any inconvinience".

I cant believe Gabe said "well, this sucks", when he said that I really felt bad :(

Valve's next official, public statement will be on November 27, 2003:

Gabe Newell...
"We are please to announced we have gone Gold! Yes, "Counter Strike: Condition Critical, but Stable" is Gold and will be shipping to retailers by Christmas. Making full use of the Horribly outdated Half Life 1 engine, CS:CCbS will feature a new mode - Public Relations nightmare."

"As for Half Life 2, no comment. As stated in the butt-kissing Halflife.org article, 'We don't owe you squat.' Even though you are our customers, and you pay our salalries, make the payments on my fancy car and support my McDonald's Diet, it's our game and that's that."

hopefully theyll say gone gold *crosses fingers*

I have to say with all the crap they get no matter what they say, and how they are constanly accused of lying about basically everything at this point, I think they will keep their mouths shut until there is something positive to say.

Not saying WHEN it would be, but I think they will say "Gone Gold" before anything else just so they can say something positive to cease the endless negative flow of everything that has happened.

I was actually thinking the same thing as any other statement will probally just cause more damage.
