Hey, to save bandwidth. Why not allow us to download it and share it like bittorrent?
Better yet, give us the option to make our steam act as a bittorrent. THAT would GREATLY speed up the spread of the game.
From what I know, they are uploading the game to all of us one person at a time. They are calculating that for every second someone gets the game. However, how many people will be downloading that on the internet at the same time???
The time adds up. Didn't gabe himself say it would be around 2 GBs?
Tell me guys. How many people here has ever downloaded 2 GBs before?
Well, I have. When I downloaded Linux stuff. With an uncapped cable modem, I could recieve about 1GB every 15 minutes.
Now with a 3000 cap, it takes me about 45+ minutes to download a gig.
Trust me when I say that THEY WILL NOT be sending the game to you at full speed!
I would say the fastest it is going to go is around 50KBs
For 2GBs, that could take 11 to 12 hours of downloading.
If we share it on a bittorrent and if EVERYONE helps out on sharing it. They may be able to get the game out in just a few hours.
Well, that is all I have to say now.

We are going to run into problems on CS:S too. Which that depends on how many people really have the HL2 CD-key hooked up with steam or CZ.

PLEAESE forgive any math stuff that may be off. Also, I really don't want to hear crap about KB kb kbs bla bla bla.
Most of you are smart enough to figure out what I am saying.
Therefore also forgive any spelling errors or whatever because I haven't installed Word to do my spell checking yet.
I want to see a thread full of answers not crap saying that I don't know what I am talking about. Also, don't make any comments about this last paragraph!

Ya, your right. What I am saying is bittorrent would be a great way of doing it.
Or a few people can download the files and post the gcf file on there servers for faster download.
Also, I would love to hear something back from valve if we are allowed to share the gcf file on personal servers or not.
