Preloading phases?

Phase 1 - materials. I'm assuming textures and the like.
Phase 2 - audio. Nuff said.
Phase 3 - presuming models/maps?
Phase 4 - presuming models/maps?

If there's one phase left, if that, something really looks like one of two possiblities.

1. The magazine is right, and it will be gold on the 22nd, or be available the 22nd.

2. VALVe is being creative, and they're planning to release it on september 30th. Think about it, september 30th 2003 to gamers, was a very depressing day. Releasing it exactly one year later would be incredibly cool and a very nice touch. I'm opting that this is their plan. Anyone else?

We're missing models, maps, the engine, and possibly animated scenes, though I doubt it.

That could be 2 more preloads at one a week, plus a final one to unlock it, if it went gold after 2 weeks it COULD make a sept 30 release date, though I wouldn't put my faith in it.

And i think the pre-loading will go like this;
Phase 3 - Models
Phase 4 - Maps
Phase 5 - Engine and game dll's, etc (eg. game is released)

Anyway, how much could they "preload" before they have to release the final game? Wouldn't maps, models and stuff be loaded to public computers after the game was released?

So about the phases, Valve is known for being "cool" and doing "cool" things per say. I can see a sept 30th release to kinda be a little humorous.
