Things don't always happen on time in Half-Life land.

The 'release' of CS:S might be later than next week.

Please kids, don't get ants in your pants if that happens. Lets be nice and calm and adult about this.

they've just preloaded the maps
so i think its true..

acording to the law of valve, each thing they make has to be delayed at least once, HL2 has been delayed so its allowed to come out pretty soon, allthough CSS has not yet been delayed, so acording to there laws, they have to delay it this time.

Yea.. Im bored at work so im not making much sence.

wouldn't this be better suited in the CS: S Forum?

No, because this relates to the purchase of HL2, which will be available through Steam when CS:S is available to be unlocked.

Well, considering everyone who is preloading off of steam already has CS:S on their computer, the only thing that would stop the release would be some sort of injunction on the behalf of VU

Nowhere has Valve stated that we have the final, 'to be released' version of CS:S on our PCs. They could still find bugs in the code that need updating, and of course there could be issues with the billing system or Steam that could delay things further.

This is how you get disappointed by delays, you assume there is nothing that could cause them.

Not that it matters, but as far as CS:S goes, it is done, it was sent to VU in the RC. The game has been in beta testing for awhile, and if there are bugs in the code, they can patch it through steam.

Other than that, I would agree other things come up, but Valve said next week, and who would know better, Valve or someone on the boards?

Going on past history - somone saying 'a Valve relase is likely to be late' has a higher probablity than Valve of being correct.

Actually CS:S was delayed, remember when the beta came a couple days later than they stated? So it's been delayed at least once...

 nice one guinny

why not?
theres still plenty of time...its just wdnesday...of course if it wont come out tomorrow, ill be concerned...

Valve never releases anything on time. So why this? Soo to be so negative...

Lately Valve has been "reasonably" on time...so I think it will be fairly close to this week. Maybe a few days off, maybe a week, but all things considered I won't complain about that...

Although I'm sure many will complain if it's 7 seconds late since it seems some just need something to complain about ;)

What do you..

WHOA! GET THOSE ANTS OUT OF THERE!"!!

ill give it to the end of the week before people start gathering in riotous mobs outside valve HQ

What the fudge are you talking about? VALVe hasn't set any dates since 30th september, of course they can be on time when they say the game will come out absoutely, no doubt about it, definately no later than... sometine this year...

Im sorry, but that has got to be the funniest thing I have ever seen you say Guinny.
fantastic.

the simple truth with Valve is

They would rather announce something early, and deliver something late. than announce something late and deliver it early.

I think they get excited too easily.

Actually VUG(Viviendi) has no control of what valve does over steam. They have no jurisdiction and no say what so ever. All Viviendi can do is prolong the release date of HL2. Valve can not release HL2 over steam until VUG releases HL2 in stores. But vavle can pre-sell hl2 on steam when ever they want. Valve is using cs.source as a means for people to order Hl2 off of steam. So screw over VUG and get it off steam.

if I were vugames and valve said what I sell off of steam I keep and I'm going to tempt all the hardcore fans with free css for a month to buy off of steam,,I would delay the game the full 6 months of the contract.. period.. Because in reality it's all about the money...period.. and in companies the diff in someones bonus could be that $2000 extra in sales and they don't want to lose their bonus's because of steam..
