45 minutes for SP? And thats just a demo? Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers on Nintendo can be beat 4 times during that 45 minutes.AmishSlayer said:The other Prey demo thread has a link to an overview of the demo. They said it lasted them 45 minutes for SP.
That's pretty damn long if you ask me. Then there's MP on top of that...

10-12 hours?! FOR AN ACTION FPS?!CR0M said:3Drealms forums.
Apparently the full game is around 10-12 hours. That's 1, maybe 2 sessions for me. Short.
ElFuhrer said:10-12 hours is what I've come to expect these days. But developers tend to exaggerate when asked about the length of their games, so I hope it doesn't turn out to actually be only 8 hours or something. But 10-12 hours in one or two sessions? You'll be playing for 5 hours straight at the least!
Oh, and 45 minute demo ftmfw.

I don't sit down and play for hours on end o_o
What games are those? I don't know what games you are buying, but all the ones I have been playing are longer than games from the 90's. I remember renting dozens of video games years ago, and beating them a few hours later. It was pitiful. These were high caliber games too. In fact, I have beaten hundreds of games in the early 90's, and nearly all of them could easily be finished in a few hours. So you can't really say that they are getting shorter. Games used to be SHORT, and except for some rarities - they weren't even any good. The late 90's, yes they were much longer than previous years, but I don't think you convince me that they were longer than games of today.CR0M said:lightweights ;p
games have gotten much shorter over the last decade, now they're almost fun-sized. pretty soon you will be finding them in your xmas crackers.
R.I.P the late 90's
same, well not 4+ hours, maybe on games i just got brand new but like yourself i find time hard to come by to play games much these days, the odd gam of pro evo or few rounds of bf2 is pretty much it, i'd have no time to become immersed in some huge rpg or similiar type of game genre(rts etc)AmishSlayer said:I used to play long sessions (4+ hours) but now I find myself squeezing in 15-60 minute sessions most of the time.

yeah my long gaming sessions would be back in my ps1 days and early ps2 days, i played the tanker chapter of mgs2 pretty much straight through, picked the game up early evening on a friday and played it till like 11pm just pausing for the odd snack or check of tv, ah nostalgic timesAmishSlayer said:My 4+ hour sprees would be way back in the days of Goldeneye in the summer or something similar.
Yeah, now if I'm going to play an RPG (on consoles) I need to be able to save often. I don't have lots of time to just plop down and game for hours on end.
That's why I love my DS Lite Quick bursts of gaming when I have downtime.
Well, if they've spent enough time on it there will be wierd and different portals, gravity, or environmental anomalies that don't repeat throughout the game. Maybe stuff we haven't even thought of. There are tons of possibilites for puzzles and stuff to make it really un-repetitve. Hopefully they've taken the time to see all the things they can do with what they've implemented.xlucidx said:Watching some of the videos, I'm pretty sure the game will end up being rather repetitive.
But on a plus, so far none of the levels really look like they're copy & pasted, so that's always good. n.n
Percentage wise, a few hours is a huge difference when we are talking ~10 hours, don't you think?Ravioli said:I just ordered StarWars Republic Commando which people say is REALLY short when they at the same time say its 9-10 hours. So how can this game be long if its only a few hours longer then Republic Commando? For me, 10-12 hours is just fine, i play slow anyway.
