Prey E3 2005 Video!

So whats prey about and what engine is it using?

it is using the doom3 engine, and it has alot of "different" game modes to it.

I have to say, Human Head looks like they've got their shit together on this one. It's gonna be a mind-trip.

That scene where one of the children got possessed and murdered the other one was pretty creepy. I think I actually heard a guy say "Jesus Christ" after that.

Looks interesting. They are doing a lot of creative things with the Doom3 engine. I didn't think it could even do some of those things, like the space ship part in that huge reactor core room or whatever that was. The style looks sort of Half-Life-like in a way.

I was thinking the same when I saw the intro.

Looks like the basically put hl2 and doom 3 together...kinda.They have storytelling of hl with the scary/wtf/holy shit type thing going on with doom.

Yeah, heres a spoiler

The Holy Man is Gman

Okay I was joking, but if you think about it. Besides HL, what other games feature a kind of spirit guide of sorts (Not saying Gman is a spirit guide, more of making Gordon an accidental Hero)

Game looks amazing. A must have for me. When do you guys tink they will release that high res vid?

wow, pretty nice, i was very 'meh' towards this game before but the lvl design looks very nice, the intro was cool.

like absinthe said that child part was freaky, no wonder the guy said 'jesus christ', pretty shocking stuff.

loved the whole teleporting thing, the way that massive monster with the horns was introduced was awesome, looks like it'll be a bitch to run.

Looks fantastic, very eerie. I hope they don't use the portals too much for cheap scares like the monster closets in Doom 3

watched it again. wow! mind boggeling. crazy shit. cool, drewl....

After reading the preview in the last PC Gamer, I knew it was going to be something to watch for. So far its exceeded my expectations. :D

I didn't have the chance to see this presentation while I was at E3 so this was a nice find. Thanks for posting. :D

I have been waiting for a good thread to post in to hit 1000, and well, lets just say this is definetly that thread.

When is this coming out?

WOW. That game looks amazing. The bar room, the fighting, the teleportation, the little kid getting possessed.... All of that looked so amazing. I cannot wait to play it. I loved the part where he walked into a room and one of those capsules opened up and then the huge monster popped out then another and then something came down from the ceiling and he walked into it and teleported to somewhere else to fight an even bigger monster. I cannot wait to play this game. It is definetly my number 1 pick for this year... Amazing...

Is there going to be a game that utilizes the Doom 3 engine...THAT ISN'T SO GOD DAMN DARK?!

Aside from that, Looks really kick ass...that possession scene was...trippy.

I can't see the bit with the child being possessed and then killing the other one staying in. I'd like to be wrong but I really don't think that it'll make it into a retail version.

why? its not as bad as everyone is making it out to be...play a game from the silent hill series, the stuff in that is probably more mature in terms of its subject matter and violence that you'll get in any other games

game looks great I especially like the way they did those portals that was really cool

Child violence in games? I really can't see that getting past a censor uncut. It would be good if it did, it's rather freaky stuff, but I just don't see it happening.

Looks very cool, finally someone made a good game with the D3 Engine...

well the whole theme of silent hill 4 is effectively about the domestic abuse of some kid who grows up to be a murderer and that got through censors uncut...mind you i suppose there aren't any scenes in silent hill 4 as direct as that

we'll see

And in Doom 3, the Cherubs resembled babies...
And in Postal 2...well everything in there was pretty much offensive.
And the GTA series...

Meh Silent Hill 2's was much better. The topic of Euthanasia has never been better addressed in any medium.

It's good to see a showing of a game that looks like it's a game. Instead of a heavily scripted first-person movie.

The game has some nice ideas, but is it going to be anything more than a "Shoot everything over and over again" game or is it going to be a bit deeper?
