With all this information about HL2 release date being late November which is 2 months away :( and CS:S being available next week, I am starting to wonder whether I should cancel my order from amazon.co.uk for HL2 that cost £24.99 and order direct through Steam. However, this is a hard call to make as I do not know the price of HL2 yet!

If I buy HL2 on Steam, then what happens if I move house and don't have an internet connection to download HL2 again? Can I copy the HL2 resource files on to a DVD disc... ARGH!!!

Damn Valve and Vivendi! Why do they have to make things sooooo complicated! Why can't Valve just give HL2 to Vivendi. Vivendi publish it. We all get our copies, then we play... or is that to simple?

Instead we have to string things out... again!

I sometimes just get the feeling to say a$$ to HL2... it will never arrive. hehe.

Anyway, enough of my rant, back to prices. Any ideas/info?

Regarding your preorder: wait till prices are released, which could be in the next week people buying hl2 over steam might be able to play CS:S around then.

And yes you can copy your steam files to a DVD or split them up onto CD's.

Yes, the Gold offer is available worldwide. Pricing info will be
released next week.

Thanks for your mail and your interest in our games.

Cheers
Pricing won't be known until Monday, at the earliest, it seems.

And of course you can back up the stuff you download from Steam.

But in the same vain, you dont need to. All of the steam files can be downloaded at anytime. I reloaded my PC the other week and installed steam, logged in and it began downloading all on its ownsome........SWEET....

Don't know about save games and such, but it means that you never have to worry about keeping a disc copy again.
