Do you think the SDK and other files will come with this book as a free extra? I know you can download them, but for people who have a 56k connection and would rather just have them on CD i think it would be a great thing to add to the back cover like they do with the "linux for dummies" books where they have a version of linux in the books. Just an idea.

Thats a good idea, I have a 56k connection, and if the tools came on CD with this book i'd definately purchase it... I say we petition :)

You know, a resource cd would be a very good idea, they could put lots of source code examples and uncompiled stuff on there too

I may just be an idiot here, but anyone know the date in which this book would be comming out?

Id also really like to know when this is out. I looked on amazon and it says it 'usually ships within 4 to 6 weeks' so i guess its out around mid December to early January. Probably when they release the rest of the SDK.

Good stuff, i would buy it too if it came with a resource CD - JOHN121 give Valve a email if there is more than two months before the book comes out!

Yes and let Prima know VERY SOON. This is not the kind of thing they want to implement right before sending to the presses!

Amazon is teh s uck. I ordered the Raising the Bar book before it was out and it still hasn't shipped to me now that its out.

There still hasn't been anything offical about that editing book. I sure hope it comes out some time soon though.

Amazon has it slated for March, 2005. But I must warn you. I had a UT2004 editing/design book pre-ordered that was to be put out by Mark Rein of Epic, and it never saw the light of day and was cancelled before it ever went to press. (why, I have no idea) Maybe he got to busy on unreal engine 3 ;)

Not to mention I am almost positive that 3d buzz will begin doing VTM's for this new engine.
