Every time i use print screen with a media player it just has a black picture and where ever the video/media player is in the background is, is the only place it will show up. I know this is usually common with windows media play but its doing it with all my media players wich is odd becuase the one i used the other day while "print screening" from it was working just fine, i had no problems with it. Why does it do this and how can i stop it!? arg... this is not cool.

I have no clue why that happens...

But I think I solved this once by getting a lil program that would do a total screen capture. I'm sure there's lots of free programs that can do that...I'm too lazy to link one for you though :p

Disable overlays. Check video settings of the player.

it wouldnt be the player, i was useing it for the exact same thing the other day with no problem. I think there is something wrong with my print screen action cuz every time i do it, it doesnt capture the whole screen just parts of it, just earlier when i tried capturing just my desktop it only captured the shortcut icons and made everything else transparent. its retarded.

It's this.

The problem is related to hardware vs software rendering of the video. If you disable the overlays, it should be 'fixed'

Tools > Options > Performance > Advanced

Untick Use Overlays.
Aye, WMP example.

Just go through the options menu for the program you are using and find it.
Sometimes I use powerDVD to play things and my version does not have a overlays option BUT it has a capture image button. D:
