Yes I know, Warez is bad. I agree. Yadda yadda warez this that and whoever.

I'm not asking to crack a downloaded copy.

Is there ANYWAY to bypass the Steam part altogether and just play my Single player? I'm tired of having paid for this game, and now I can't play it because some lame ass patch Valve did.

Is there anyway to get around it. I tried Offline mode, that just gives the exact same problem everyones getting in online (game begins "preparing to play", then spins cd, stops).

At this point I don't think im worried about "legally". If Valve wants to sue me, fine, I'll pull out my HL2 reciept, a copy and proof of all the crap going on right now, that I can't even play the game that I paid for, and I won't lose a court battle.

Not sure where i saw it. Probably at steam forum. Some one posted something about extracting the gcf files to different folder. Never try it myself.
Might as well get the warez version, the hell with this. I am paying and can't even get the game to run without problem since day 1. pfft. Warez boyz probably finished playing already.
:bounce: :bounce: I wanna play.

Personaly....I think time is for some changings on the market.
Every game is mostly made for playing online multyplayer. Yes?...yes

Now, it would be really great, IMO, that releases of new games would be freee for single player mode...in a way of free CD or download link, doesnt metter.
Now, as you are adictive you would go and buy original so you might play online. Steam stuff as ussualy.
There might be difference between games for single and multyplayer.
So, that way pirate bussines could be cut a bit
