Problem installing Steam!!

hey,

ahh this problem is so annoying, i have spent days searching the net for possible solution and nothing!! this is really starting to piss me off now!! i hate htis steam bollix!!

So I bought the HF2 double episode pack a few weeks ago and tried to install and got the common message:

steam.exe (main exception): unable to load library Steam.dll

So after researching i found out u have to allow the firewall, so i turned off the firewall completely to be sure, but still the error comes up when installing (im online (wireless) all the time here too)....so then i found that u can download the .dll file and out it in the steam directory, i did this and now it comes up with

unable to load library SteamUI.dll

Now i research again and nobody seems to have any answers or posts and forums are too old for this answer!! My firewall is off so i dont think its that.

Remember that this is when doing the first install - not after it has been working awhile!!

My Laptop is a Dell D430, Xp, 1.5gb ram, 1.2ghz Centrino Duo (shipped Aug 2007)

Someone please help...im so close to knockin on valves door and givin them a piece of my mind!!

Try downloading steam manually - here then once its installed, run the disks again.

If that dosen't work, load up the steam you downloaded, register the CD key and download the game that way

yeh i downloaded steam and installed, but just as it finished it popped up that same annoying error. "Steam.exe main exeception......

i still at load steam.....any ideas!!!! ahhhhh this really killin me now

Google 'full steam install' try to find the one from file front. download it (it may take awhile) then run steam and your problem is gone. I had the same problem. now i have a new one i cant connect to the steam network. i need help with this problem.
