problem with ai

hi, im new at the forum... im having trobles with the parts in wich some char in the game has to do something for yo, like after him talks to you, he shoul call the elvator or something.. but he does nothing!! just sees.. folow me... and does not move!
how can i solve this?

I can only remember Alyx and Mossman calling elevators, and both of them are women..

But.. whenever the script gets stuck, the solution is to start a new game on the chapter you're playing.

yet it was only an example, im in the part that there is a lighthouse and a clifpath....
how do i start the chapter again???

Are you serious? Go to new game --> choose the chapter.
