keeps saying "required security module not found" even though the disk is in the drive and i've downloaded the patch. any suggestions on how to make it go away?

Do you have Daemon Tools or Alcohol or any other kind of virtual device software installed?

Uninstall them...

i don't have any of them running, why should it matter if they are installed?

The game can detect them...

It's an anti-piracy measure I guess...

But you should wait for a second opinion, I could be wrong...

Although it did happen for me when I tried installing Stubbs the Zombie... gave me that same error, I disabled daemon tools... it still gave it... I uninstalled daemon tools... it worked.

I have them installed (but off) and the game runs fine. Doubt it is because of those programs.

try this

1) right click on the game shortcut
2) select properties and click compatibility Tab
3) Tick "run this program in compatibilty mode for: and select windows 2000
4) click apply and ok
5) run game and enjoy :D

i had this error before, ( i forgot what game ).
hope it works for you.

Having same issues, this does not resolve it, and not the only game I have had to friggin go around the copy protection with a legal copy. My bf2 dvd wouldnt read from my dvd rom drive so I have to use a fake image just to play.

X-factor:

this is where copy protection goes too far, same with SONY music discs, the horrible part with sony is they wouldn't have told anyone about that hole if someone didn't discover it!

oh, tried the windows 2000 and burning a faked image of the first CD, took it back to Wal-Mart for another copy yesterday as well.... I hate securom.. "secure" is right, my $$$ is securely in Wal-Mart's hands and I have two 25 dollar coasters in my hands.

i had the same thing, i just reinstalled it and it was fine.

i have daemon tools and alcoholo 120% installed.

I don't use the shortcut, I go to My Computer and run right off the disk, I dunno what the difference is but it works
