Thats odd?

How many pins does the cable have, and how many in the CRT is there supposed to be

[edit] I have just catched on to what you mean, I've checked myself.

I take it that you have cable coming out of the monitor and you can't take it out (pre-installed)
You went to connect the Xbox Cable to the cable coming out of you monitor
Only to find out the CRT cable and the Xbox cable are both Male connectors (They have pins sticking out)

If thats the case you will have to buy an adapter (If you are a UK resident it will probably set you back £1.99-£3.99)

It's the end that's connected to your comp that you're supposed to connect it to, atleast with the official VGA-HD cable from Microsoft, the VGA cord goes FROM your monitor(Where you can't take it out on mine) INTO the computer, so check your CASE, to check the cable into the case from your computer, if it's VGA, just connect it to the VGA 360 cable, you need an adapter for that tho, I got one with the official, it's a so-called "Gender changer", that allows you to connect VGA cables male-male instead of male-female(If you get what I mean).

Hope that helps somewhat.

I knew it. VGA cable should have 3 rows of 5 pins. If both cable have this, then it might be as simple as getting a female-female vga adapter.

Its best to see the adapter through the see-through packaging, I tend to get male and female mixed up, so using the packaging description is probably a big Nooooooooooo!.
You should see if its right with your eyes.

guess i'll have to buy an adapter then...where can i buy a good one?

Majority of Electronic shops should sell them. Best places to check would be PC World or Maplins, but like Gargantou said, its best to stick with official stuff from Microsoft
