Hey all,
I'm having major problems in HL2 episode one and I was hoping someone could help me. Firstly, this doesn't happen in HL2 or Episode 2, just E1. Secondly, when I last playing it 6 months ago, about, it was all fine. Now to the problem. What happens is different almost every time I load it up. At the beginning there are sometimes sound and video glitches: the sound doesn't always work/repeats in places, and for video: it doesn't show everything sometimes (for example, during the intro, the purple glow around the vortigaunts isn't there, and you cant see the g-man). This only happens sometimes. What always happens in that my HUD is really weird. Instead of showing words, it shows it in lots of pixel like graphics (I have a pic attached of that) It includes my health area, my crosshairs, my change weapons dropdown, when I read my ammo, almost everything HUD related.
I have updated my video drivers, and i tried uninstalling episode 1 and deleting the files with it, then reinstalling it, but it still gives me the same problems.
Any help would be great.
