Problems with HL2 Episode One

Hi, i've recently installed HL2 EP1 but i'm having 2 problems with it.

1 - Some objects are invisible. I can pick them up and throw them away and all that, but I can't see them.

2 - There are some missing textures (they are replaced with the pink and black square texture).

How do I fix this?

What are your computers specs?

First give your specs, then we can go from there i guess.

Update your drivers will be the most common piece of help. Also, try uninstalling and reinstalling from scratch.

Oh, lol, I forgot that
Here they are:

Intel Pentium 4 - 2.8Ghz
512MB RAM
GeForce FX 5200 (all drivers updated. this graphics cars is rubbish, i know, but I can play HL2 fine, only Episode 1 is having problems)
