problems with the physgun JBMOD...

OK ive seen a couple of other posts about putting the JbMOD folder in the wrong HL2 folder. THis is not the case.

My problem is that when i load the shortcut with the extension -"game jbmod -console" as soon as i get into the main menu the console comes up and says "unable to load maplist.txt or whatever. I cant choose any of my saved games, and i cant do a new game either any idea what to try next? ive tried v3 and v4, just for reference. Also ive reinstalled the game once. and as soon as i delete the JBMOD folder, everyhting goes back to normal any ideas?

apparently the mod doesn't work with new/saved games from basic hl2, you have to load a map and play like that.
for example:
map d1_trainstation_01

I could be wrong, but i tried a grav gun mod and i couldn't load or start any new games so im assuming that JbMOD is the same.
