Ok, so I got a 360 with splinter cell and PGR3 a few days ago, but i'm having problems trying to connect to Xbox Live. I know everything is wire correctly on my end (Xbox > Modem > ISP) but it keeps failing the connection tests.

Sometimes it passes the IP test but then fails the DNS test, other times it passes both but fails the MTU test, saying it can't connect to the xbox diagnostic server, and other times it just fails the IP test.

I rang up my ISP and they said they would get back to me today, which they havn't. :(

I know my ISP shouldn't be a problem because other people use their 360s with them with no problems.

Help :O

If your going directly though a modem then thats weird.....Call back ur ISP

First thing I would do is reset the modem. Turn it off and unplug it for 30-60 seconds, then plug it back in, turn it on, and try connecting to XBL again.

If that doesn't work, check your ISP account info for your DNS addresses, IP address, etc. (or if you don't have that, call your ISP again and ask for that), and input all of this information manually through the XBL diagnostic window. Then try connecting again.

Once you're connected, add me (Soupstorm). I've been looking for people to play Double Agent with.

Yeah, i've tried entering all the informaton manually and it still fails.

The test looks like:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TEST STATUS

Network Adaptor Wired
IP Adress Failed
DNS
MTU
ICMP
Xbox Live
NAT
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The settings we are using are:

IP Settings:
Automatic
IP Address 169.254.223.74 (example)
Subnet 255.255.0.0
Gateway 0.0.0.0

DNS Settings:
Automatic
Primary DNS server: 0.0.0.0
Secondary DNS server: 0.0.0.0 (no servers appear)

PPPoE:
User Name Not Set
Password Not Set
Service Name Not Set

Advanced Settings:
Host Name Not Set
Alternate MAC Address Not Set

The test always fails at the IP test, however if we manually enter the DNS server address' then it sometimes reaches the MTU test, but fails it. Most, if not all of the time it fails the IP test.
