Problems

I just got the Orange Box for PC today.. I can't seem to run HL2 though, well it runs.. just everytime I hit a loading screen (in game) it closes.. so after I talk to barney and he tells me to meet him in the plaza, and I enter that room where it says LOADING the game closes and it says internal hardwar error DIRECTx9 or something to that effect.. I haven't tryed portal or TeamFortress yet, they're still updating. HL2 is 100 percent and it says ready.. so any ideas on what I can do to fix this problem? it's really annoying.:|

I fixed it, I updated my driver.. thanks for the help though guys.. I actually fixed it a few minutes after I posted this xD.
