What would an AMD Athlon-64 2800+ be equivalent to for an Intel chip?

Would it be 2.8 ghz P4?

I pretty much should only be worried about the bench marks it gets in game performance here right?

No, you should read the entire article to gain a perspective on which processor is the best overall for your price range. The problem with the DX9 benchmarks Anandtech used is that they are not a good representation of DX9 games available. However, they give you a perspective on what type of performance you should expect for upcoming (and current) DX 9 games.

With that said, it looks like the A64 2800+ performs along the same lines as a 3.0/3.2 Ghz processor from Intel.

I hope those scores on the Aquamark is not enough to put doubt in your mind. haha
They are basicly all the same score. Hardly any change at all.
