I have a 6-page paper due on Wednesday and I told myself I must do it over the weekend. Well guess what, it's almost 8PM on Sunday and I didn't even start. Yep, I will end up doing the entire thing on Tuesday at night which is really gona suck.

Does the same happen to anyone else?

"You have plenty of time in class!"

"Its only one assignment, thats like what, .0001%"

What i tell myself.

oooo, me ALL THE F*CKING TIME. Im so lazy, i always put shit off. Even if its due say in 3 days, and im SUPER BORED, like out of my mind, I still wont do it. Ill put it off till about 6 oclock the night b4 its due.

I actually did a essay for school 4 days early a few days ago.......but only cause i thought it was due the next day. Sometimes I just dont do the assignments.

My name is Brad, and I failed 2 subjects last year.

"Ugghhh, I don't feel very well on Wednesday. Tell the school I'll be in on Friday... uggghhh"

Actually I just used to disappear for about two weeks til the dust had settled then go back.

"Chris, where's that essay that was due in before you 'got ill'"
"Ahh, with being ill and everything I didn't get a chance to finish it. I tell you what, I'm not doing anything important in my other classes, will you let me do it up here over the next few periods?"
"Hmm... only if it's ok with your next teache"
"Ok

/me goes home"

yeah it happens...but it dosnt matter, there is an easy way to surpase it. When you get home from sK00l go right to your computer and start typing....type for about 30min. If you know what your gonna right or if you know exactly what your gonna right you can get 1-2 pages fully completed in that time. (double spaced, like all docs should be). Take a break and play some games for 30min then start typing again. It gives you a special feeling, like your gonna get it done in time and it works most of the time. Hard to explain but it makes me feel good. mmmmmmmmmm

There's a fatal flaw in that plan for me....when I get home, I'm completely knackered.

I have a 10 page essay due this friday and I haven't started my research. Luckly Im doing it on the evolution of videogames.......and how the people that play them have changed along with the games...(over the years).

Anyone have some links off hand that would be good for some info? Like sites about the old (historical) games?

LD's patented tips for doing assignments:

- Make the spacing 2.1 - 2.3 (In MS Word, choose multiple spacing then type in the value). Nobody can tell it apart from double spacing and you get to write less - in a 10 pages essay you get 3 extra pages for free.

- Don't chage fonts and sizes, it's too obvious. Be careful with increasing margins also.

- USA = United States of America

- Amazon.com is the ideal place to find quotes from books and has all the info needed for a bibliography

- If you're allowed to quote from the internet, just make something up and then list some 404 url in the bibliography

- Don't plagiarize, paraphrase. MS Word thesauras is the best tool. Just right click on the word and choose a synonym.

There you go, hope that will help some people

damn...thats a good idea!

Yeah, but thats no good in College. You HAVE to have 10 pages, and you also HAVE to have real content, you need to get your point across otherwise you'll get a bad grade.

But for high school, its damn good stuff.

I can make myself do something similar. The only probleme is that i'm too lazy to go to the library(in most cases the internet does not have all the needed info).

And what the hell is a "Procrastinator". Not a single on-line dictionary doesn't know that word.

I've been perfecting my technique for 7 years since 9th grade. Now I have a 3.89 GPA in college. :)

Actually I have three Labs due in physics tommorow and I haven't even begun them. That's quite a bit of work too. I'm actually the type that can't do work until the night before, I actually work much better under the pressure (for some odd reason), and my essays or projects are of a much higher quality if I rush them rather than taking my time with them (strange, I know). I think though that the reason I procrastinate is that I have no interest in any of the subjects at school (I find them very boring), while I'm finding all sorts of cool (read: time consuming) stuff related to my interests on the internet everyday. Hell, I'll spend 8 hours straight programming stuff or tinkering with my computer, but I can't write a damn paper with that type of devotion.

Edit: LoneDeranger, those tips are great. I'm going to use them for the 10 page minimum paper I have due this Thursday on the life of Pliny the younger (haven't started it yet).

I need to pull my grades up :/.....its amazing how much easier/less stress you have by doing homework right after you get home. You do it then you have nothing to worry about for the rest of the day...ahhh satisfaction.

I used to procarstinate all the time but I fell life is better when you don't so I have begun to try to be more contiencious in my studies.

w00t! :D

Be careful though, other then the 2.1 spacing trick some of them could be dangerous. I had a friend who made his margins like 2 inches on each side an lost a grade for that.

And be especially careful with plagiarizing. At best the teacher/professor will embaress the hell out of you and at worse you'll fail the assignment or class. Don't do it unless you're really lost.

OMG, yes. While in college, I procrastinated all the friggin' time. And now that I'm taking the GRE to go to grad school I keep procrastinating studying for it (thankfully I'm pretty much done studying), and finalizing the schools that I'm going to apply to.

I remember for my final paper for Technical Writing I started it around midnight the night before it was due and didn't finish till about an hour before it was due. It ended up being about 20 pages long too. And I got a 94/100 hahaha

The only thing I never do is plagerize. I'm a good writer as it is, no need to steal.

Well ok, it's Tueday night, I sit down to do the paper (it's due tomorrow) and my gf calls me!! For all the f*cking days she didn't call - she had to call today.

This sucks ..

Damn you guys just reminded me that I have homwork due for my most boring class tommorow , damnit!

I also managed to meet a girl I like with a serious boyfriend , sucks.

Enjoy High School , because College work sucks!

heh, I just finished a seven page paper on Henry David Thoreau's Walden. I started at 5:00 and finished at exactly 10:45. Damn... that sucked.

Damn how can you people write so much ... I suffer from some sort of perpetual writer's block. I've been writing 3 pages for like 9 hours now. Pathetic... :(

Ahhh... I wish I could say I couldn't relate... but that'd just be a damn lie...

I am procrastinating at this very moment. I have 5 short papers due in 1 class tomorrow. I was supposed to do them over a period of like 8 weeks, but hey, who has time for all that?

Not only that, but I had all the time in the world to start today, but I was playing the new MP2 levels. Haha, we suck.

I can spend 3 hours cleaning every item of paintball kit, after a hard day's paintball, but I can't do 2 pieces of homework after school. :dozey:

I always wait till about 9PM the night before fot the small h/w's, and I do the big ones at around 6.

The longest I've left h/w is 10min before lesson. I was in Year 8, and had this big geography essay to finish. I forgot all about it, and finished it while sitting on the field. I spent most of those 10 min chasing after paper which had blown away :p

I got a Level 6 for it though! Which is just about the highest level you can get in year 8. :E

That reminds me... i've got english coursework due for after Half-Term.

Meh.

how come u all have 10 page papers to write, that is so cheap, double spacing, triple spacing. I wish we did that, we have a word limit we have to reach, otherwise i'd use Quadruple spacing.

Lots of you shure are lazy buggers :cheese:

I nearly always do assignments when thier set (well, not ALWAYS)

I can write 2 pages in half an hour with a bit of inspiration(NO spacing, thankyou), so it deosn't take long to finish stuff. Once i had too write a whole essay (3 pages) for the end of the lesson, well i did it and got a B+ too. I hate writing essays though and my handwriting leaves a lot to be desired.

Most work we get is pretty easy, but english essays piss me off because i have to think for them, i also hate french.
