What's that sound - can it be the sound of 100000's of fanboys fapping?!

Cooooooooooool. This is a +1 reason for me to want a 3DS.

Hahaha, neat.

Still only part way through the second game of each franchise, but it seems like this could work nicely. Aside from the art and period mismatch.

Are they Layton games actually good? I really enjoyed the first Ace Attorney game but haven't played through the others (the music in 2 is terrible though, how did they feck it up so much? The first one had great music).

How does this even work? I'm so confused.

Why can there not just be a new Phoenix Wright game?

They're great if you like brain teasers. Tons of excellent puzzles, and a few poor/infuriating ones. Story isn't half bad either.

Nnnnnfff what a great trailer yes yes yes
I was wondering when the **** Capcom would make a new Ace Attorney game, they've all been so successful that it seemed weird that they'd just drop off after Apollo Justice. Also now I might actually get around to playing Professor Layton?

And I for one love how Professor Layton's dead soulless round eyes clash with the Ace Attorney art style

They didn't drop after Appolo Justice. There is one and one more incoming soon called Ace Attorney: Investigations. With Miles Egdeworth.

Ace Attorney: Investigations has been out for a while. Different from the other games too, it focuses on (obviously) the investigation side of things. Don't think you actually step into the courtroom at all.

When I saw this, I whutted out loud. It's like they thought 'you know, it'd be real neat if these characters could be in the same game because, you know, they both point a lot'. And why not, I suppose? If our worldly logic dictated game design, you wouldn't see Professor Layton in court until Luke was old enough to speak out. Macaulay Culkin with a bad cockney accent style.
