Yeah but what would it be used for? Sure you COULD make a bigger city but that would also cost the devs more and probably result in poorer quality, heck, I can't name even ONE PS2 or XB1 game off my head that made FULL use of a DVD-DL..

Are you sure the PS2 and XBox 1 even used dual layer? As far as I knew, they didn't use dual layer. News to me.

Oh, and If they can't make a great game with the next gen hardware, they suck. I've seen some amazing shit done with the shittiest hardware, and the 360 is pretty amazing.

Gargantou, I think the developers were mostly complaining that the 360 core doesn't come with a hard drive, so therefore, the game can't require one if they want to have 360 core compatability.

What gets me is, the xbox 1 has a built in 80GB hard drive, although it only really needs a 1-7GB, if any at all. That was one good thing about the xbox 1, and they did away with it. It's a shame.

I realize that the old Xbox was big enough to just throw any cheap PC hard drive inside, and that with the 360, this is not the case. They made a unique, detachable drive for it, and that made it expensive.

The game is going to rock anyway.

Yeah but in all honesty, would it have been a smart move of MS to include a HD-DVD drive on release? It'd probably put the 360 premium at release on the same pricelevel as the PS3, if not higher.
 
Two of those DVD's are basically 720p FMV though.

No, esp. since they only expect the 360 lifecycle to be ~5yrs. PS3 did it because they envisioned a 10yr lifecycle for it and I still think it was a good decision and it will only look better as the years roll on.

Simple psychology, it becomes like a religion, most likely because they don't have an official one. Everyone seems to need something or some kindof group to cling to in order to give some sort of meaning to their lives, it's the same with anything.

I'm sure a lot of developers are going to add silent HDD functionality in their 360 games. If you have one, game data gets cached, load times are quicker. If you don't, no data gets cached, load times are longer.

I think the reason Japanese gamers didn't like the original X-BOX was because it was a piece of shit, especially for them. There were very few good games on that console and almost none of them catered to a Japanese audience. There was what, Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden? That's all I can think of.

There's nothing special about the 360's hard drive, it's not incredibly small. The only thing special about it is that MS was nice enough to make it a proprietary format so that you can't buy bigger, faster, cheaper hard disks to put in the 360 and are instead forced to pay absolutely ridiculous prices. The PS3 uses a standard laptop drive, which is about as small as they typically get, and can be replaced very easily. I firmly believe that by the time MS has finished brutally raping your virgin anus (sans lube/condom) with all these extraneous fees you would have probably saved a significant amount of money with a PS3.

And I don't see what's so amazing about the link ... it doesn't just come from stupid sites like "ps3fanboy" or whatever. I've seen similar articles related to Rockstar's comments on a few of the major sites. The 360 probably will hold back quite a few multi-platform games, just as the PS2 did last generation. That's the way it goes.
 
You know what makes me giggle? People who by the elite to replace their original 360. If they think there getting an upgrade? Think again. You'll still get the red circle of death in 3 months. It still has the problems of the original 360. I have an original 360 and it has been working perfectly since I got it at launch. I am definitaly not going to get the elite.
 
Quick everyone jump on the release a shitty remake bandwagon. Sony will do it with the PS3 once they finish software emulation and can make the unit physically smaller.

I have a confession. I think I have a little crush on that 23 year old Frankie girl from Imaginary friends.
