PS3 for a bargain price of $8000

People are safe from this one now. $1,000,000.00 auction has ended.
I think it is really sad if people want electronics that bad that they pay inflated prices. Even back when the Xbox360 went on Ebay at launch. :x

god all the really have to do is wait a month or so and they'll save $7300

I saw an ebay auction for a $25 target gift card finish at $45 last year...

What I'm hearing is that with the sold out pre-orders 10% of the North American units are accounted for. So what the hell are people all worried about?

EB games will be getting 8 ps3s at launch per store ..2 of those are allocated for staff ..leaving just 6 per store (what stops employees on opening day from simply purchasing the other 6?)

I wouldn't pay retail price for a PS3 in the first place let alone $8000.

At a lot of businesses, employees are barred from getting any of the cool new products. Like at Blockbuster, I worked there when i was 17 *shame* and we were allowed to take home brand new releases the day before they were released (monday) but not on tuesday. Then after that we had to pay for the rental, as most other movies were free to rent.

Actually, according to my sources, the stores are getting 16 each, but how many core/premium is still unclear. Some say the stores will actually order their own, but I find that dubious at best.

Oh, and there are those out there with enough disposable income that even a savings or expenditure of $7300 dollars would go completely unnoticed. Crazy, but very true. I only wish that were me!

Someone needs to think, "I'll spend this $7300 on ...something retarded!. Wait, maybe I'll do something good and give it to the regulars at HL2.net, seperate it equally!"

..Hmmm...MORE TAXES ON THE RICH!

I think both of these numbers are from the same report. The biggest of all their stores are being given 16, but 8 is the average over the entire chain.

I'm getting my info from tuesday's gamespot podcast ..one of the guys has contacts within EB ..although my memory is a little faulty ..it could also have been gamestop (they were talking about both companies) but I'm sure what Direwolf said was repeated in the podcast ..16 for largest stores. BTW Best Buy may not offer pre-orders ..first come first serve :O

I say they should distribute it according to post count with the bulk of the money going to the top poster with the rest trickling down to those below

my scenario = win win

Their bosses probably wont let them buy more than one. Although they probably have more than 2 employees :O

Doesnt matter to me, im not getting one for years to come.

EDIT: lol

Q: What's so special about the particular PS3 you're selling that you're asking $7900 BIN? Does it cure cancer? Because I have cancer in my balls. Does it have a hole in it where I can pleasure myself? Because that would be the only reason I'd pay the rapage price you are asking. Thank you.

A: It sure does. Actually, the PS3 does help to cure disease, including Parkinson's and Alzheimers, so you can feel good about your purchase. See CNN for details: http://edition.cnn.com/2006/TECH/fun.games/09/18/playstation.folding/ . Happy bidding.
