PS3 release?

Does anybody know the time that Sony is shooting to release the PS3? The reason that I ask is not because I'm going to buy one. I'm asking because Nintendo said that they are planning to release the Revolution at a time that will compete with the PS3. I'm trying to put the pieces together.
