I have a Thermaltake case with 7 fans and a 420 watt power supply right now. I'm all the stuff in my specs minus the X800 XT. I'm running a 9600XT rather. My friend is thinking that since the X800 XT will probably be a power hog (along with my current fans) I should upgrade my PSU so my fans doesn't have to suffer and I don't get overheating problems. What should I do...? I'm running great right now, cpu is ~35-45C. (35 currently, gets up around 45 in FarCry occaisonally).

So do I need a PSU upgrade to keep fan speeds up? Thanks.

No, your 420 watts should be absolutely fine. The x800s only use slightly more power than the 9800s. As long as its a good brand of psu (eg thermaltake, antec etc) you will be absolutely fine.

Have fun with that rig, it looks like a beast.

Yeah, it's a 420 Watt Thermaltake PSU. Thanks, it is a raging beast lol.
