Public Option guy walks through Conservative Teabag demonstration with sign (vid)

he's got big balls; most of that crowd is armed

Oh jesus christ i cant believe i put Teabag *facepalms*, i think it was cuz i read the original video title.

ya I editted my comment because it's pretty obvious what you meant

grown men and women reverting back to age 14...classy. take a look at the guy in the last few seconds putting his sign in front of the other.

If Obama wore cowboy boots and lived on a ranch, most of this wouldn't happen.
Of course, if he did do that, then a lot of people who like the fact that he visits vinyards would probably not have voted for him.

Are they really scream "No public option"?
Now it's no public option on health system? What's next? No public option on taxes, domestic and foreign policies, war...?

That guy behind the dude with the megaphone yelling in his ear.

I would kill that man.

"no public option" ...because for profit companies have your best interest in mind:

Crystal Lee Sutton may not be a name most know, but she is the woman who inspired the 1979 movie Norma Rae. Ms. Sutton died at the age of 68 after fighting with her health insurance company for cancer treatment. She was struggling with meningioma.

The health insurance company was delaying treatment and surgeries needed for her brain cancer. She went two months without treatment because they wouldn't cover it. She claimed it was another example of what the working poor has to go through.

This post doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

I thought the police did a pretty good job there. In Britain they would have had no respect for his right to protest and would likely have forced him to put away his sign. Of course, it's also worth noting that in Britain such a mundane public vs private issue would probably not create such a petulant and inflammatory atmosphere among conflicting groups, to the degree that you'd need a dozen or so officers to shepherd a single dissenter.

Wow ... if nothing else that looks like an absolute ton of fun. Pissing off stupid people is endlessly amusing.

Not exactly true.

Sadly it is true:
The kid who was prosecuted for an 'abusive' anti-Scientology placard
FIT-watch women arrested and brutalised for requesting officer's number (FIT teams essentially being special teams in the police who do their best to scupper protests and harass protesters)

Also:
http://sweetness-light.com/archive/13-of-british-muslims-call-77-bombers-martyrs said:
The "Newsnight" show on which Choudary subsequently appeared included news footage of an English bobby vigorously silencing such a citizen, described as a van driver, who, according to the televised report, had angrily criticized the Muslim protesters. It is tragically enlightening.

"Listen to me, listen to me," said the policeman, shaking his finger at the van driver. "They have a right to protest. You let them do it. You say things like that you’ll get them riled and I end up in (trouble). You say one more thing like that, mate, and you’ll get yourself nicked (arrested) and I am not kidding you, d’you understand me?"

Van driver: "They can do whatever they want and I can’t?"

Policeman: "They’ve got their way of doing it. The way you did it was wrong. You’ve got one second to get back in your van and get out of here."

Van driver: (bitter) "Freedom of speech."

Any examples of the City of London Police or the Met championing the right to protest for anti-Scientology demonstrators is worthless, since it comes off the back of the police having been found to be in cahoots with the Church of Scientology:

Point is, most British police are just a bunch of corrupt thugs who pick the path of least resistance. The same can't be said for the police in the OP vid, who did their job well, so kudos.

lol @ all the signs asking for troof. Coz the Conservative scaremongers sure give you that.

I've been on the recieving end of American police "kindness" for contesting my right to protest their treatment of my friend. I gave him a knuckle sammich as a response but I didnt have the whacking stick of plenty like he did

Can anyone imagine what would happen if Obama tried to introduce the NHS in the USA.

There'd be gun battles in the street. It seems 'No treatment for the poor' is the modern day 'no passaran'

"No public option" sounds like something the profit companies should be screaming. Why the hell are these stupid rednecks promoting their own demise?

Republicans vote against their own self interest all the time. People like these protestors get duped by the party leaders and media personalities into protesting initiatives that would be beneficial to them. It seems that most of them are incapable of critical thinking.

The video that staticprimer posted illustrates the whole thing pretty well. They see signs that appear critical of healthcare reform, listen to the song while its message whooshes over their heads, shake hands with the performers, and go about their business comparing our president to Adolf Hitler.

It's that same "take it at face value" mentality that precludes these people from understanding that they're doing the bidding of huge pharmaceutical and health insurance corporations whose only concern is increasing profits. They're so concerned about the ridiculous idea that a public healthcare system would establish "death panels," yet they fail to realize that the private health insurance industry they're fighting for decides whether people live or die on a daily basis. These people have no idea what they're actually doing. They're just pawns in a profit-motivated scheme that completely escapes them.

I'm constantly embarrassed I live in the US. we make the dumbest protesters, we are glued to the Media, and no one has anything better to do. I haven't watched more than 1 hr of news the entire month of September and its really amazing. my life doesn't feel so glum and boring. the media really drags you down

Is it just me or are people more aggressive in this demonstration than the anti Bush crowds?

Right wing protests freak me out. Mostly because ever since I developed an awareness of politics conservatives have been in charge both at home and in the USA. Seeing the boot on the other foot weirds me out a bit.

which is insane because people protested against bush's war machine that led to the deaths of millions while these lunatics are protesting healthcare reform ...you have to wonder what they would do if confronted an issue that hits to the core of their fundamental ideals: like gun ownership or complete seperation of church and state. goddam bodybags would be pilling daily (hopefully they outnumber the sane)

I may end up laughing if the health care system overhaul turns out to be a total failure. His second term is riding on this thing.

even if it fails at least it's something. doing something is better than doing nothing as the conservatives have been doing for years

Would it have been worth the cost? For $900 billion you could give every man woman and child in the United States $3 billion.

For 900 billion you coulda just paid the Iraqis to kill each other.

your math is way off it's $3000 not $3 billion ..which is incidentily the cost of the invasion of Iraq for every american

I wish Obama did go there. It would make awesome TV.

agreed. <stocks up on marshmellows to roast over the fires of american anarchy>

Could someone please make another thread about the u.s.a health care plan and anything else related to it? We havent got enough already.

Holy shit, that's hilarious math fail.
This just in: every American could have been a billionaire if it wasn't for Obama!
