I believe it hits the theatres this Friday. I'm looking forward to seeing how this movie turns out. Daniel Craig looks like he would be a pretty gay James Bond but who knows. So how about you guys are you pumped to see the movie?

Seeing it this weekend at some point, and I'm really excited. It looks awesome.

The trailer looks really good, i was quite suprised, the last few bond films totally blew. The new guy seems better then Pierce Brosnan IMO.

Fail. He looks like someone who might actually be a hard-bitten intelligence operative, instead of a sleazy car salesman, like more or less all the Bonds since Connery have been.

Can't say I'm a big bond fan, but Daniel Craig has potential to be up there with Pierce and Connery. I've been looking forward to this though.

Also, those who are whining about Craig being Bond, shut the **** up. How can you judge even before you've seen the movie.

Brosnan was merely okay. Craig looks like the shiz.

Brosnan only had the gentlemanly appeal, he never seemed like a real "badass" to me. Craig seems to have both aspects.

I read some interview thing on the net that said he couldn't even drive a standard. What kind of James Bond is such a pussy that he drives automatic? But I agree on the Sean Connery thing, he is untouchable as James Bond.

Super Pumped! Bond is dope!

Danial is the shit.

Looking forward to seeing it (not sure when it comes out in Australia). I like the fact that they have rebooted the series and gone back to the franchise's roots.

looking forward to it, Craig was pretty good in Layer Cake, I reckon he'll make a bloody good Bond.

Daniel looks like a badass as Bond. Brosnan was ok, but he was too suave moochy moochy.

As much as I hate the choice of the new Bond, I'll prolly see it.

Can't wait, its going to be freakin' awesome. Apparently its going to be a lot closer to the books in terms of tone (and the fact that Bond is a total bastard), which in my opinion is a good thing - I for one have had enough of ****ing invisible cars and gutter-level double entendres.

TABLOID LIES! I've read several interviews with the man himself, and he can drive a manual. Apparently he flung a DB7 around the Top Gear test track without too much trouble.

I prefer Pierce Brosnan. Not going to watch.

This is a remake, isn't it?

:|...the original Casino Royale was probably the worst Bond movie ever.
I'll wait for reviews.

I didn't see the last 2 bonds since they seemed a little bit boring, but I'm actually excited about this one.

Craig was fantastic in Layer Cake and Munich. He's going to be the best Bond since Connery. Fact.

I'm pumped. Craig looks how I imagined James Bond to be from the books - harder, more gritty. Bring it on :sniper:

I like Craig as an actor, I'm hoping to see all the twits who were complaining when he was chosen eat their words

Ladies and gentlemen (oh, who am I kidding, gentlemen), I have returned from a press screening of Casino Royale. My father works for the press, and he was allowed to bring one guest (namely me). I will be frank:

It is the best Bond film since Goldeneye, if not more.

Make no mistake, I loved Pierce Brosnan as James Bond, but Daniel Craig is better. Someone mentioned that Brosnan reminded them more of a sleazy car salesman rather than a ass-kicking secret agent. For the first time here he is actually imbued with personality. Craig is not just some good-looking guy spewing the occasional one-liner or quip while nailing women and blasting nameless goons. He is three-dimensional, the jokes are actually good (all of Judi Dench's lines as M are hilarious), and he is a brutal, badass bastard as well as a suave playa.

With Die Another Day, the gadgets reached the critical point of ridiculousness with invisible cars and giant laz0rz of D00M! In this film the most advanced thing Bond uses with regularity is a cell phone and his classic Walther PP7. The poker game is actually exciting, and the breaks they have in between always have some dramatic action. The opening scene (there are two actually), features an absolutely amazing chase scene through a construction site (I've heard the villian is actually a profressional free runner). There is a point where the guy actually runs up a wall, I shit thee not, and it is all real. The story of how James Bond acquired his first two kills are also interesting and exciting. And by the way, Eva Green makes a damn fine Bond girl. :naughty:

The action scenes are well-paced and do not suffer from something I dub "Van Helsing Syndrome", where the awesomeness of the fights is diluted by doing it over and over again. The plot is exciting, with plenty of twists and turns and a villain distinct from all the previous generic dastardly Commies/terrorists. And the ending is one of the best ever.

I, Thunderclap, do hereby give Casino Royale a 9.2 out of 10.

Whoo! Thanks for the review.

And for the record, I really liked Die Another Die :(

Hm, this would be the first Bond for me to see in theaters, other ones have been too meh to bother. Should be a good movie to go see with my cousins over Thanksgiving. Last time our choices were basically Harry Potter or random comedy movie...

Meh, maybe. I still can't wrap my head around Craig as Bond. Maybe he'll change my mind, but he just doesn't seem as suave (though I realize the Bond of Casino Royale is much darker than they have been in the past).

I dont know, besides the blond hair I think he's alright ..I hated when they picked Bronson as Bond but he turned out alright, I'm willing to give Craig a chance ..plus he's a return to the realistic bond that hasnt been around since connery (he looks like he could fight his way out of trouble) ..imo there is only one bond:

Really looking forward to it. Die Another Day was shit, but Casino Royale looks to be a pretty gritty spy film. Craig makes an excellent Bond to boot.

Not liking the craig's image as bond, but since everyone is saying it's pretty awesome, I might give it a shot. Might.

One step towards my dream of a bond movie that casts the eponymous hero as a rambling homicidal bearded drunken drug-addled junkie mysoginist maniac, highlighting his post-imperial delusions, his narcissism, his moral bankruptcy and his debauched sensibility, having him rescued from some shithole of a middle-east secret prison by two wisecracking MI6 agents from Newcastle who do all the hard work helping Bond take down some dictator or other then go get drunk at the end when 007 gets all the credit.

So, yeah, looking forward to it.

I think it's gonna be pretty cool. Daniel Craig seems to be a better bond than brosnan at least.
