Purchasing HL2 through steam... secure?

Before i purchase Half life 2 though steam tomorow(upgrade ATI cupon to gold), I was wondering if anyone has had any problems with security of credit card numbers when buying games over steam. Its just that after all of the problems with steam, im not sure how secure it is with sensative information.

Chances are at some point it will get broken into. considering valves track record at stoping hackers it does worry me.

just use a zero liability card, so if it gets jacked you get your money back right away.

steam has to be pretty damn secure in order to do what it does. Cause if it does get screwed over valve is gonna be in a deep hole im guessin with a lot of gamers.
