Pushing button under bridge does not release the shield in the railroad tunnels??????

Here I am again guys, same shit, different day. I restarted Highway 17 and worked my way back to the bridge. Made my way out to the control shed with the shut-off button for the railroad shields. Then........

I pushed the button to shut off the shields
I loaded up my rocket launcher
Went downstairs to the catwalks and shot down the gun ship
Made my way back to dry land, got in the car, drove up to the RR tracks and the damn shield was still up. Just like the first time I did it.

Now, what do I have to do to move on? I'm not going back out to that control room. I would appreciate any help I could get. Oh, I do not have a pirated version, I bought it at Best Buy.

well after you press the button the shield should go down, but if that dosen't work you can always build yourself your own ramp with the grav gun to get over the shield . It might take a while but at least its kinda fun.

Er....

The thread title says the field in the tunnel.

You want to be going over the bridge, not down the tunnel (the other direction).

Not sure if the thread title was a typo, or whether you were just going the wrong way. If it is the bridge fields you meant.... then I have no idea.

I come up to the RR tracks and turn right. I go down the tracks across the bridge and damn near get run over by the train coming the other way. I made my way to the tunnel and the shield is blocking me from entering. Now what?

you have to go left before you get to the shield, there is a train or something infront of the turning, you should see a bridge which has collapsed.

As soon as you hear the train press boost; don't reverse and run that's no fun.

I gave you that exact answer the other day, well someone who had a similar name and identical problem. First time i drove down the tracks i tried to pull in left and the train hit me head on and i backflipped into the ocean lol. You have to use turbo to beat it and you pull in left and do down the embankment and around the concrete structure and down the tunnel, that little area finished, LOADING comes up done. Its piss easy how can you not see the giant opening.

Sorry I misunderstood you. I was under the impression that the shield was supposed to be down and I could drive right through the RR tunnel. I didn't realize I was supposed to take the road to the left and through the other tunnel. It all worked out, thank you.

open the console, and type: sv_cheats 1, then type noclip.
now you can fly through!!

if you don't have a console, go to controls, click on advanced, then enable developers console. use it bu pushing ~.

playing chicken was awesome. I did that by instinct the first time I played through. I heard it, it rendered, I pressed the turbo and just made it.
